What would it run to get one of these babies for a 96' Chevy Blazer with a 4.3L in it?
I know it has the CS144 style in it, and i know for a fact the AD244 style will bolt up so whichever one is cheaper...
-
"Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 4, 2, or 1 ohm mono" so if the amp is at 2 ohm i should be alright?
where are you getting 2ohm from? only way you can do a 2ohm load is if you run 1 sub.. but your running two so your gonna hook your subs either to a 1ohm load or 4 ohm load.. you can't change the load on the amp all you can do about that is to set the gain on the amp properly
-
if they are dual voice coil you can only do either a 1ohm or 4 ohm load..
-
uhm, you could do at 3200 on a burb but for daily driving i'd be kinda nervous throwing that much power to them.. but i guess you could always just turn the gain down a bit.. just my opinion but you can see what other people think as well
-
8 12's in a grand am.. interesting, i can dig
-
i relly cant just go find a newer blazer lol i just bought this one lol but yea thats crazy u had same vehicle an we have the same avatar lol
that's the thing you don't need to get a newer blazer, newer style GM suv's pickups, vans, etc. alternators will bolt directly up to the 4.3L in your blazer, cause it's the same as mine i'm sure. soo no need for a newer blazer, just read the article and try and find the alternator in a junkyard somewhere
-
if you can find a newer model chevy you can get a 145amp alternator for like $25 bucks at a local junkyard, i'm still in search for mine
check that link out.. all the info you need to find the right alternator.. i would know cause i also have a 96chevy blazer and it's a coincidence that you have the same avatar as me lol
-
maybe you just don't know how to wire it up or set the gain cause you can still get away with 4 guage on a 1600 watt amp, i don't necessarily think that would cause what you are describing that is happening
by if anyone disagrees by all means go ahead i could be wrong but i'm just sayin
-
Yeah, Iam interested in pics, Iam a tline man myself, and would love to see this
you and me both
i mean 1 18in t-line would be MASSIVE i don't even see how 2 of them in a t-line in a BLAZER would be possible
-
man that flex just looks awesome, throw a 30hz test tone in that baby and see what it does lol,
mad props
-
wtf 2 18's in a blazer.. in a T-LINE?!?!?!
did you make a wall or something?.
also what's the tuning on it.?
-
so if he had 2 subs he could get a 1ohm load
buuuuuuuutttt. i read his original post wrong, i skimmed over and though he was getting 2 subs, not just one, my bad then yeah you would go with D2vc
-
or get a good 1000watt amp and get D1s ssd's and wire them to 1ohm, either way i'd still get atleast the bp power option
-
couldn't he get like a t-block after the fuse holder that goes to both amps, or would be be drawing too many amps through that fuse?
-
yeah i would think you'd want fuses on both power wires, and someone correct me if i'm wrong, just saying
-
good movie to go see, hilarious fo sho
-
wow i haven't checked this topic for a while but thanks guys
and yeah a wall would be cool but i'd rather try and do maybe 4 15's in a wall in the future, not sure about 2 12's lol
and trust me moore, with my t-line in there it was hella close to my tailgate, i had to deaden that sheet cause of all the rattling coming from it
-
not necessarily.. all the more power you'll get to the sub..
-
how big of an amp is it? could be low voltage maybe?
-
shoot i think my first wiring kit i got from walmart for like $25 bucks, but i soon upgraded to 1/0 awg and got into a whole new ball park of car audio, but yeah i mean when your dealing with 4 gauge... i wouldn't worry to much about how good of quality it is and stuff, any of those i seen in the posts from other people on this topic look like decent kits and would work...
-
Thanks man that's exactly what i was asking...
-
no i know you can tune your box to whatever you want, i've already built like five, but i've been curious to try this design out just to see how it sounds...
i'm not new to building boxes and what not, i know about tuning i was just asking if that design can be modified to the way i explain in my first post...
-
Well that's the thing I won't be using those subwoofers even though the design is meant for them
I will... we'll not me, but a buddy will be using 2 12's Audiobahn Alum12n subwoofers and the tuning from those specs that i figured up was around 29hz...
-
So a long time ago I came across for a vented enclosure by Diamond Audio as the picture below...
This picture shows the that each sub has their own chamber and the ports are on the outer edges of the box...
My question is is it possible to leave the center divider there, but change the ports around so that the ports are in the middle, but with the center divider there and each sub would still be in it's own chamber, or will this affect the tuning and mess everything up?
Any and all responses are appreciated...
and if you have and other questions to help your response just ask...
T-line Ideas (visuals)
in Subwoofers / Enclosures

hmm i see it but i have my concerns..
heard good things about t-lines sealed
don't know how well the bass reflex would work
i figured with the t-line ported chamber you'd get cancellation issues but i could be wrong
both dual reflex boxes would have to be massive cause you'd almost have to still have the the cone area equal to the port area
the free air would work i'm sure of it
the free air isobaric would maybe work but for the ported one once again i'd be worried about cancellation issues if the exsisted..
now if you've built all these boxes and tested them then i could be wrong but if you drawn them all up from spur of the moment ideas then those are my $.02's
but either way i'd admire your interest in t-lines as for i am a t-line enthusiast myself
