i like to tune right around 35 htz, depends on the vehicle though
35!
can you still hit low!like in the high 20's?
-
what is the best tuning frequency that you ppl have experimented with!
that make you guys say "perfect"
to be able to hit them lows?
-
looks decent enough!
-
3:08 - its called i got 5 on it BUT, i want the bass version he plays !
-
dam!
-
sorry for the song!
have doubts: Try to bump this song on your system!
starts at 0:54
-
can i still hook them both up together?
-
anyone?
-
WTF
i think he ment to write wont instead of want!
-
You want be able to tell not with just one diffrent...
so it wont matter right?
-
ok i have two 15's same brand, inpedance and watts but one of the speakers has one spider and the other has 2 spiders does this make a diffrence?

get a lawyer!
thats what my perants did and the lawyer did all the rest!

Making a box too big isnt bad, just cut up some MDF to use as "filler" and add it internally to the box to take up the extra space. On a side note, decreasing internal volume without modifying the port will decrease tuning frequency. Can always mod the port later.
Yes bracing counts as filler.
modding the port would be hard for me to do!
-
If you make the box oversize. Then you don't need as much power. If you make box too small. Over power. As far as bracing. Make it 2 layers thick all way around and interlock the 2nd layer over the first. I always glass the outside of my boxes. Extra strength.
what do you mean by interlock the 1st and the 2nd layer?

for 15's, depending on power, i use 3-5 cubes per 15. i had my old 15's in about 4 cubes per sub with ~12 sq inches of port per foot. and i personally wouldnt tune to 29 hz, i find it pointless. i stay in the mid 30's. you're only going about .5 cubes bigger per sub after displacement (give or take .5 for displacement), so i think you'll be fine
im goin to run a kicker kx 2500.1 on each subs!
ill be running about 4.9K

2x4s you can brace lilke this
okay thank you very much!!will this make the enclosure internally smaller?
-
you forget that there is no bracing or nothing in that box once you add bracing and add the subs the box will shrink internally
what do ytou guys thing i can add in bracing to get the box to oraund 7.5-8.0 cubic feet? anyone?

also the subs in my other truck require a 6 cubic foot box with aero port 3x9(the companies dimensions), But i gave them a 8 cubit foot box with aero ports 4x10 and they sound good!even though the box is 2 cubic feet bigger!
-
You can run either setup and have a good sound with no detriment to the subs. 8cu is great for two 15s. You could even go 10cu with the right port/power.
To answer the literal question though, "too big" will just mean a loss of cone loading, power handling, and resonant freq inside the box. The sub will act as if it's in an infinite baffle setup at a certain point which is something you don't want. It would have too be blatantly too big for that though.
this is the enclosure type!
to give you guys an idea!
do you think 1 cubic foot bigger will make alot of diffrence!
im kinda of a newb!

Depends on how much power your going to run that box if your going to run that 2500 rms each then thats fine since when you build a bigger box you wont need as much power to make the subs loud but with making a box too big it'll cause the sub to bottom out and then you got a messed up sub so your all right depening on how much power your going to run.
im going to be running 1 kicker kx2500.1 on each sub!
-
how much power are you goin to be running?
and also wait a few hours, you will get a response. just chill
2900wrms as of now,but planning on running 2 kicker kx2500.1!
-
damn bro only 16 mins
chill out and w8 a few hours
i know but i need this ASAP!
