  1. None of the pressure is getting into the cabin so it is all staying in the trunk, you'll need to find a way to get some of the pressure into the cabin. Do you have fold down seats, if you do then fold them down if not you'll need to find another way.

I have to 2nd this. If your trunk is sealed from the cabin, and the subs are firing into the trunk, you will not hear them very much. Now, if they are firing into the cabin, that is a different story. Can you elaborate?

  2. So, someone help me understand the internally bridged part. I have a DVC 1ohm sub. If I wire each voice coil to a seperate output, then you are saying the amp automatically wires it up parellell, making it a .5ohm load?

The speaker terminals on the SAZ amps are connected internally, not bridged. You can use 1 or both sets of terminals, doesn't really matter. Think of it as having 1 positive terminal and 1 negative terminal, but you can hook up 2 wires to each.

  3. Why is it that some of the sub forums do not use the selected skin? This is nothing to do with this specific upgrade, but since it is a skin related thread, I figured I'd ask. For example, when I go into the Sundown Audio sub forum, it is the SMD Default skin. If I go to the bottom of the page and select the Google Free Blood skin, it doesn't take and still shows the SMD Default skin.

that is a problem i wish i knew how to solve...it bugs the crap out of me lol! It will eventually get fixed. Nothing ever just works perfect :pardon:

Cool, thanks for doing what you do. The site looks great and it seems snappier (quicker) with the new upgrade.

  5. Generally tuning low will have the desired effect, but purposely creating a ruckus is frowned upon here. Its people that install a system so they can "set off alarms", "rattle houses", etc... that gets the negative attention of local authorities up in arms and then they clamp down on loud systems.

    Bump responsibly please.

  6. Do you know how to test to see what you RCA voltage actually is?

How? I have a dmm. Put it on 200V on my dmm?

Depending on your DMM, you want to choose AC Voltage. If it is autoranging, that is all you need. If it is not, choose a setting that is close to but higher than 4v. Put the positive probe on the inside RCA connector and the negative on either ground or the outside connector. Turn the volume up and you should see how high the voltage goes. Now to see clipping, you should really find someone that has an Oscope. Maybe there is an SMD member with one that is near you?

  7. I would not put another dime there unless you had some kind of surveillance first. Hell put the camera up and dont put any money just see who is going through your shit first.

haha yea true, ur just put a note saying i got you on camera just to scare him a little bit. Ive been going threw my head over and over if I took the $5 out and i didnt, I only had 3 $20 in my wallet. The note pad I had over the money had been moved also. I dont care if it was $1, its the point of the thing. we have cameras set up anyway in office and outside, so if it happens again Ill ask they look at the footage

Are you on good terms with the security dude? I'd ask him anyway. Just because he only took $5 from you doesn't mean he hasn't been stealing from others as well. Let them know when it happened, maybe they will catch him taking other shit too.

    I'd report it now.

I work at my university as a student worker but have my own desk, comp so on. We dont really have security pep around but campus police (which are a joke with this stuff) best thing I can do is see if it happends again. I told my boss so she knows.

Yea, I see what you mean. Let us know what happens!

  9. OK so this is not allot of money but I put a $5 in my drawer to have for a rainy day. Its been in there for about 2 weeks and we just got a new guy coming in cleaning the floors and what not in the morning. Just so happens after say the 3rd day of him coming the money is gone. I hate little pricks that steal from me. Im gone put some more money in the drawer probably another $5 and see if it walks away again. If it does I have a good idea its him. lmao it bugs me so much I might get a spy clock to put on my desk to capture who the jackass is. I dont play with that crap

Setup a mouse trap for him or something.

  10. My cd player put out 6V so ur saying my gain should be 0? Cause my amp getting 6V threw my RCA

my headunit has gains built in for every rca output, not just sub, i dunno how the new alpine stuff works but mines an oldschool pioneer deck with digital xover kinda like a 360 or imprint type deal

    sorry if u miss understood

Naw ur ok. I have a alpine imprint too with my alpine cda-105 so my amp get 6V threw RCA. I was going to turn my gain up to bout 45% up with my subsonic at 30hz or 28 hz.

Alpine Imprint only has 4v preouts, just saying. You are not getting 6v out of it.

My alpine hu put out 2V so total of 6V.

    It doesn't work that way.

    Couple of questions for you.

    1. The 2v Preouts are referring to the RCA connections, not the AiNET connection. Are you connecting the Imprint to the RCA's on your headunit for some reason or are you using the AiNET connection?

    2. Even if you were connecting to the 2V preouts, you don't just add up the voltages. Whatever the preout voltage on your processor is, thats what it is. It doesn't just add together as if they were batteries in series. Its the same as an amplifier. With your logic, your amp will put out more power if it has a higher input signal which is not true.

You have 4v Preouts, not 6v.

  12. I have never heard of a y splitter causing anything to pulse. First off, are you trying to get the signal to multiple amps or just one amp? If you are trying to go to 2 amps, yes, just use a y splitter. IF it is only going to 1 monoblock amp, usually just the one rca is sufficient since it is only one channel anyways.

You would think that because its a "mono" signal and a "mono" amplifier", I googled this and someone said it made a big difference between using one and two (using y-splitter as opposed to not).

I say @ OP, never hurts to just try running 1 RCA back and seeing how it works out.

It depends on how the amplifier is designed. On some mono amps, such as the Sundowns, you only need to hookup one of the RCAs since they are connected internally anyway.

OK, im going to try it, Ive never used a Y splitter before, but when he did it sure enough it freaked his subs out like his amp wasn't grounded well or something lol. i have a Y splitter i bought, so im going to use it up at the HU since i already ran RCAs to the rear. Im only using one amp for subs. I was pretty sure that's the only way to do it, but it scared me after watching his subs pulse like that, they were like full excursion during pulse too, cant be good on woofas :good:

I'm interested if anyone else has seen this or heard of this, but to me it sounds like he has an equipment problem of some type.
