  1. I think the 10000 and 12000 got discontinued. They only have the 4000, 6500, and the 15000 listed on the new site.

It's been a while since I've read the 10000 manual, but I believe the power difference between the 6500 and 10000 was very little

As far as the xxx subs taking 8500wrms. In the right application I'm sure they will. I haven't had the chance to run the xxx subs (yet), but.. I've put 4kwrms to one of my SPLX 154 subs without any problems.

  2. I found the image on Ebay and decided to try chopping it a little. Now, I haven't done any chops in about 6 months, so I'm a little rusty here and there. Plus I'm trying to get used to CS4.

Remember this is a work in progress.

    some work done to it

So far it's been lowered, tinted, shaved, and logo. Logo is not done, got a lot to do on it.

  3. I've got a used amp for sale. Doesn't have a remote knob though. You can always get an inline remote to control it.

    Memphis 16-MC2000D

    RMS Power 4 ohm (Watts) 1200 x 1 @ 13.8V

    RMS Power 2 ohm (Watts) 2000 x 1 @13.8V

    RMS Power 2 Ohm (Watts) 2400 x 1 @ 15.5 V

My sponsor told me at the last event I attended that the amp has been modified to run at 1ohm and up to 18 volts. Not sure of the output at those specs though. $350 + shipping.

I doubt that's what you want though.

  4. Where in Jax? that first flea market up around the airport? Kinda curious. I am in savannah, so yeah, I can ride down...

It'll be at Johnson's Family Flea Market at Lane Avenue and Ramona Blvd. Just off I-10 from 295 south. I will have more info and directions within the next couple weeks.

Things are still in the planning stages. We're wanting to do this right, or as right as possible. We don't want the normal bullshit you see at any other audio event.

This is basically just the beginning of things to come. I don't want to get to far ahead on letting people know what's going on, but I can say this. If this adventure with audio events turns out good, there will be a few other things coming to reality in the near future, maybe.

  5. It'll be open to anybody, but, we pretty much want to focus towards those cars that think they're loud. We really don't want any heavy competitors due to running the people (newbies) away. That, to me, is the things with all the organizations. A new person goes against a seasoned veteran and gets his ass handed to him on a silver platter. Then that new person gets scared and runs off. We want to bring new people into the lanes, get them used to competing and knowledgeable about what their system can do. Then start talking them into going into competition. Basically a training camp for them is what we're offering.

I just hope it turns out good. The maybe it'll spread out after some time and become something people want to do.

  6. My team will be holding unsanctioned shows in our area. These shows will happen once a month and probably across the street from a local flea market. Our first show will be happening August 30, 2008. To start off with, we are recycling our trophies to first and second place winners. Now for the fun part.....

We are aiming for the "boom car" crowd that think they are loud. You know, the ones that will sit at red lights and play their crap so loud and distorted that it drives the others around them crazy. the ones that don't know what a good sounding, loud, audio system actually is.

We are working on the classes and rules (if any) and such now. I don't think there will be many rules as it'll be, more or less, play what you got. Not sure if we'll do SPL or music, but I believe it'll be music. 30 second average, just like bass race.

The testing will be done on a termlab. The sensor will be placed according to dB Drag and Bass Race rules (windshield). There will also be videos taken during the events so some of the vehicles can become famous (hehe).

Like I say, this is gonna be fun, and pretty much interesting.

  7. Rebuild the box. It's all in the install.

Take my system for example. 4 15s on a 6500d. I'm only doing 146.7 on music, 30second average. I should be in the 50s with this setup, but my box is not exactly right (and soon to be rebuilt).

It takes more than just shoving a box in a vehicle, wiring it to an amp, to get loud on the meter. Research, built, test, tear down, rebuild, test, tear down, and so on until you get where you want.

And 135.6 on music is not a bad score at all, especially if your trunk car is of a large version (caddy, etc..). My team mate is doing 138.1 with one 12 on 2kw, so you're right in there.

  8. MSX Audio, from what I understand, is now a defunct company. They were located in Florida. They also had a website, but I can't find it any more.

I had 1 of the ProMAX subs a couple years ago. For a sub that cost me $40 (it was at a liquidation store, which also closed down), it wasn't half bad. I blew it with a Hifonics bx-1500d. I was at a competition with it at the time, and didn't even break a 139dB. The subs do not handle the power they are rated for, in my experience.

Good for hood rats that want to rattle a trunk. Not good for competitors that want to break st... err... records (or windows).

Would I take the bet, no. Why? Well... Anything, good or bad, can be built to do just that. IF the knowledge is there to do it. 90% install is what it's all about. Hell I seen some Boss subs take out windows. They didn't last long after that, but they did do the job.

Oh, and the company was going out of business in 2003. If there stuff is still on the shelf, well, you can guess how good it is.

  9. I might be able to help out here. I've got a Hifonics BX2005d that is intermittent. It'll work for a little while then no sound, but will stay powered up. $60 + shipping

I may also have a hifonics 1500D that is blown on the power output side. Gotta find that one though, I think I tore it apart but not sure. IF I have it still, $40 + shipping

Let's see. I got one or two Boss amps that actually work. Gotta find them though. Probably still boxed up from my last move, a year ago. One is an RT545. Can't remember the other one. May part with my PD-2000 even though it's in the van for my mids and highs (does good for them at 2ohm)

  10. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. You didn't send the amp out and he/she didn't send you their stuff, so nobody lost out. As far as the shipping costs... My subs, which weigh in at 30-45lbs each cost $25 each to have shipped to me. Those subs shouldn't cost too much to ship. Since the deal didn't go through last time, don't deal with him/her again. Don't be any more rude about it, just let that person know that it's not in your best interest to do business with him/her.

  11. The shingle stuff will fall off real quick. Especially on a good and hot day. Been there, done that.

This is the stuff I last used in the Beretta. I do have some in the van. Been there since a week after I got the van and hasn't pealed off any. Good stuff. About the same price as P&S. Seems a little thicker than P&S also. Got it at Home Depot.

Tried to get the thickness here.

Also, about the roller thing. Look in the wallpaper section at Home Depot or Lowes. They have a little plastic roller that works quite nice. Costs about $3. I think they have a small wooden one also, but I can't remember for sure.
