  1. take a piece of copper wire, wrap it around the negative part of the rca's like he said, then attach the wire to a screw on the back of the headunit. you dont have to do it on the amp side since its already done on the headunit.

do i do it to both of the RCA's going to my sub out? baby me here i don't want to blow anything up...

also, how do i make it NOT touch the positive part on the RCA? the positive is the rim correct?

  2. then you know for sure its your headunit, so what other opinion would you be looking for???you probley could figure out on your own where to buy one or sending it back to the manufactor for repair. do you need some links so you find a new one?

i'm just getting a bunch of different opinions, a lot of people say its the ground, but i can't really change it...its hard to explain. I'm just trying to see if it could be any other part of my system before i go and get another HU to test it

  3. ground the rca's i've seen this a million times. especially with pioneer's

i know what you mean by the subs go crazy.

whats happening is your rca's are picking up a dc signal and translatting that into the amp which goes nuts and throws out a 45 hz tone.

what do you mean by ground the RCA's? How are they picking up this signal? I had them run the exact same way in my old setup, no problem. Its not crossing over any power wires...

  4. Not tryin to be a dick or anything but you need to check everything out like i said, you already figured out its not the amp.so your hu is probley screwed or your rcas might be. im sure someone will back me up on this.lets not be to lazy to unplug a few rcas and swap your sub out to your say rear or front out.

already done it. :censored: doesn't change a thing when i change it to rear/ front out.

  5. i doubt thats it, try it with the gain turned down low and see if it does it. i had this problem once when i was using a line driver, thats why i asked.just run thru it all and check. if it still is a problem send the amp to me :)

the amp can't be the problem. We had it in sam's car and it was pounding fine, actually made his setup quite a bit louder. i THINK its the HU, i'm just trying to get other opinions before i go around begging people to let me steal their's for a day to do some testing.

  6. So, not to long ago i bought a Fusion 4000D from SPLDave. So, didn't have the system to hook it up for a few months, never got around to it. About a month ago I finally got it in, and i start having major issues. It would play, but once you hit a high volume, the subs went into spaz mode. I don't know how else to describe this. The subs just...went nuts.

So i call Sampson (footlongsam) for some help. He takes the amp, replaces a few fets, throws it in his car, and its loud as hell. Great!

We put it back into my truck, same problem. Turn the volume up, subs go crazy and pump furiously.

It has GOT to be the headunit. It just doesn't make since because when I took out my last system it was fine, and i went around with no tunes at all for like 3 months. Adn i bought the HU (Alpine 9884) BRAND NEW in july of last year. I just want some other opinions on what it might be. I've heard a lot of people say it has to be the ground, Sam looked at it and said it was fine, and i'm running 2 Optima G31 YT's in the back, so i don't think my electrical is the problem either.

    Help? PLEASSEEE!??

  7. The fact that sampson has already told you its a no go and you come on here exploiting it just makes matters all the worse. Now not only are you questioning his reasoning but you have brought it out in the open making yourself look even more like a disrespectful dickhead to him.

    Way to go dude....

I've already stated that this is all in good fun, i'm not trying to convince sampson to let me, God forbid i try and bring a funny thread to this forum.

  8. brothers who care like that are good to have. i dont blaame him one bit, if you seem life a douche to him he wanrs to protect his sister

i don't blame him either. i don't think my sister ever will date, but if she ever does i will personally meet the guy, with a loaded shotgun.

I'm not blaming him for doing what he's doing, this is all in good fun. I'm just giving him a hard time
