Who knows. Horns are usually made for high efficiency over a large bandwidth.
Probably still into the 150's but it's pointless to consider, a bass horn for 18's would be ENORMOUS.
Out of interest, have you ever even competed before? You're talking about a HUGE system and I have a sneaky feeling you don't really have the basic knowledge required for a project like this...
No I have'nt competed in any real db drags or anything yet but I plan to. But yes I know the basic knowledge I know alot about audio.

I don't think you have the room to build a horn for 2 18's. Pete from PWK Designs had a rear-loaded horn for his 2 15's and that was a full wall.
If you want to get NEAR 156dB your only option is a wall really. You could possibly do ok-ish numbers with a box like David's old Mustang box but it will still only be low 150's.
Ohh. If I did have enough room for a horn how much db you think I could pull then???

It is better, but just because you do the exact same thing as someone else doesn't mean you'll be getting the same results. They are entirely different cars for one and every car performs differently.
Not saying it will, but there's a possibility that what works in the Escort might not work in your GrandAm.
Yeah,your right!!! I guess im just hoping for the best. But one more thing: Do you think those 2 18 btls would work better in the box were talking about or in a wicked one horn enclosure???

Subs firing forward means they are facing the front of the car. If you were to do that and port back, it would work against you.
So since i'm going to have the subs "firing upwards" is that better??

With that tuning I think you'll be a touch over 150. No way in hell you'll be 156-158. Dynamat doesn't always add dB - in some cars it lowers it.
And what? You're going to have the subs firing forwards and the port backwards into the trunk? -5dB there....
What do you mean by me having the subs "Firing Forwards"?? the subs are going to be facing the roof if you seen the vid. did you mean "Firing Upwards" or what??? pleae explain what your talking about

yes it will hit the low notes good cuz the port is tuned low, yes ppl will still hear u comin and with that dynamat it will reduce the rattling by alot but ur car will still rattle no matter wut, yes dynamat increases SPL by alil and it does improve SQ alittle and yes u should be able to do hairtricks and i dont think u would be hitting 156db...i think u would be more in the 152-154db range

I seen this guy on youtube with 2 18'' Fi.SSD's on 2400-2800rms in this box below hitting 149db. (In a Ford Escort)

For a lucky quess do you think I'll hit @ leats 156-158db's+ if not a little over since I have dynamat and because the dynamat website says itself it gives you at leats a 3db increase alone maybe more db's are vechicle variant? But 3db's garanteed!! And because he has entry level subs hitting almost 150db and i have top of the line subs.
Also is'nt there a 3db increase because the subs are going to be in the back seat right behind me and not in the trunk? and since the port is going to be in the trunk can i still do hair tricks or not?
Now I know dynamat gives more bass,better SQ,stops rattling,3db increase if not more,But with three dynamat extreme (Complete Car Kits) can you still hear the bass from outside the car and can people still hear me before they see me or what?And can I still get hairtricks with dynamat or not?
Should i get the enclosure double or triple baffled
With the enclosure being tuned to 34hz. I know it will hit hi notes good but will it still hit low low notes good?
P.S:Try to answer all of the dynamat and enclosure questions if you can!!

Im getting 1 18'' fi.btl fully loaded and my enclosure is going to be 6.3 cuft. (After all displacements) 3/4mdf tuned to 34hz. But as far as the port can you please tell me how long,tall,wide,etc. it should be for best hairtricks,loud bass at high notes,and the best low bass I can get (Since being tuned to 34hz.) without port noise. One more thing as far as the enclosure should I have the top and bottom of the enclosure double baffled or triple baffled or the whole enclosure double or triple baffled or what? Please help as much as you can I really appreciate it!!!

you can run all listed above with one 300 amp alt. maybe 2............... but 3?

How could I possibly run the whole system with 1 300amp alt. when the amp pulls 300amps alone? That there is the alternator.But like I said before when my money gets right im going to get a 2nd btl and a 2nd aq3500d so that makes 600 amps.And I was gonna use the other alt. for the car.I'm going to buy everything at once so I wont have to worry about buying things over and over.

i think the site said to use p chamfer for spl only and cooling for daily, cooling option already has p-chamfer in it so just get cooling...
edit: change your sig, honestly its kind of annoying having my whole screen taken up by your sig. (im not trying to sound like an ass)

edit: why 900amps worth of alternator for a 3000w amp?
The reason why im getting 900 amps is because when I get my 2nd btl and my 2nd aq3500d that will be a total of 600 amps and I'll still want enough amps for the car to run off of. Kinda hard to explain but yeah.

dont get the spl option, period. thats only for competition use with strictly test tone material.
and x2, you gotta cut down that sig, if you want to be that specific, make a build show thread or something.
I'm not getting the spl option I know 100% what it is. I said is the cooling option mostly for daily drivers or spl option? Which one would you prefer cooling or p-chamfer?

You have a nice setup. You'll be hitting a good 153.7db+ with that setup!! How much rms can the LV5 handle?

email them, i know theres one guy that had 16 12" SSD's, i forget his name but theres a video of him on youtube.
"Galamonkey" is the one with the 16 12's. He aslo has 4 18'' fully loaded btls powered by sundown amps in his explorer they beat hard not louder than meades but for a lucky guess Galamonkey's hitting 156.2db+.
BTW:Does anyone know how much db meade is hitting with his present setup? Seems like he doesnt tell anyone he just places the db of his old setups

The subs have 8 gauge terminals so yes 8 guage wire will be just perfect prefect "Not too big,Not too small"

I'd do 32hz. Its keeps you in the good low note range high note ranges as well. Think about it. Then again its your setup so 33hz.-34hz. is cool too I dont recommend nothing above it. Fi generally Recommends 33hz. so do what you do but heres my 20 + 2 cents

!!!!CONGRATS!!!! Nice setup you got their bro you'll be hitting a solid 148.6db+!!!. Glad to see another member with a 18 most of all gald to see a happy member choosing Fi!! You wont be disappointed! Cant wait till you get them installed and I cant wait till I get my fully loaded 18'' btl and aq,hopefully I'll be hitting a good 148.6db-149.5db with one sub LOL'z (I doubt 149.5db but more than 146.8db for sure)

Your gonna have buy a 2nd Batt. & Upgrade your electrical system. But you should'nt need to buy a alternator. (Heres a cheap batt. Kinetik Rocks!!)

Enclosure ported or sealed (I recomended ported)
If ported and space is'nt an option build to 8 cuft. tuned to 34hz. That would be best.
But if that was me I'll get the enclosure (Maximun Slam)
