  1. I had that same amp and i had nothing but problems with it! It would always go into protect even the first day i got it! It did put out some serious wattage but again that amp would overheat so bad youl burn your hand touchin it!

  2. Damn thats crazy since you mentioned this. I also have the yellow cap up front and batcap 800 out back. Also did the big 3 and have an aftermarket alternator. Obvioulsy the rpms will drop when im pounding. I think its more of a pulley thing when i feel the car stumble at idle sometimes. When im at a complete stop and the bass is slammin i can see the rpms drop. Also changed the belt and still notice it.

  3. so i've decided to go with the Alpine IVA-W505/P1. does anyone know how good this is?? i think it's pretty good. a bit pricey but it's cool.

The NVE-P1 Navigation drive sometimes freezes and you have to hit the reset switch to get the Navigation drive to load back up. Other then that im kickin myself for not gettin the IVA-W505! Oh forgot to mention the drive is updateable to new maps, backrounds etc once Alpine releases an update on their site. Simply connect it to the USB it came with to get online updates of the new Navtech maps.

  4. Man from one 1501bd hype to another...amps like these just dont come around very often! I know theres alota other amps out there that are just as good but Rockford didnt play when they made this amp! They just dont make em like this. This is really true RF Power to come out the labs in Az. I think Rockford was on top of their game when this last piece of true power came out.

  5. I hope this doesnt sound like a dumb question but did you hook the bass knob up to it? Anyways my friend has fixed my 1501 bd twice when it started goin bad and no problems since. The first time the problem was a loose metal remote piece on the amp which we ended up openin up and doin some suttering and since then the amp never went into protection. Also just recently i started noticing a weird ass noise on the start up when the H/U loads on the subs. I was going krazy tryna figure out what that noise was. It ended up being an faulty RCA connection from the RCA terminals in the amp. So we just used the other side of the RCA terminal on the amp and no weird ass noise since. I must say i beat this amp pretty hard and it never overheats. I love this amp! Its been thru thick and thin and i just cant see myself gettin rid of it!

  6. Alright the word is in! For the price with navigation you cant bet it! On Fleabeay of course snatch one up for the quick 750! which is Navtech but still has the late 2006 map codes. The good part is the navigation drive (NVE-P1) was made to be compatable for the IVA-203 and IVA-505. Basically one of the first all in one Alpine Navigation H/U. Besides that there is a couple bummers which is not compatible with the newest Alpine sound processor PXA-H100 Imprint. Only compatable with the IVA-W505 and IVA-D106 Pop Out. Only feature it has which is Loudness which is somewhat new but not the original MediaXpander feature which doesnt even come in any of the new headunits only in the sound processor. Ok the somewhat downside of this situation is the IVA-203 was made to be compatible with one sound processor and it was the PXA-H701 which was one of alpines best sound processors but dirt ass exxpensive. Also Alpine had stopped making it within the past year. It was the first Alpine 5.1 Sound Processor if im correct. Also 4V Preouts, Time corrections etc the price is almost triple the price of the PXA-H100. Also ive been noticing the navigation drive NVE-P1 sometimes freezes and wont come back on til another half hour. Not even working back up after the reset feature. Anyways Alpine has promised they will release an update the NVE-p1 navigation drive which is updateable within the next couple weeks or month.
