im wondering how i can use my current HU with this. my thoughts are to get a touchscreen. take the audio out from the computer and run that to an AUX in on my eclipse then i can control the volumn through my deck. but should i even bother? if i do that then i can still use my Elicpse for DVD and to control other monitors and just use the touch screen for controlling the computer. i can just go from the headphone (speaker) jack on the computer to one of the AUX inputs on my Eclipse cant I?

  2. aopen MP965-D

i dont know much about them but i can get two for free.

ok i got both of them and now i need a monitor. i have tried to find some 10" touchscreens with no luck. i just need the raw screen with a vga input, i guess it also needs to be 12v so some sort of power supply. i suppose i could buy a normal screen that is touch and just remove the case and use an inverter? any help here would be great.

  3. took it out last night....ohly crap dont let best buy install your alarm... under my steering column is a plastic piece that is held on by 5 screws, on the back of the plastic is really thick styrofoam. they cut that shit to hell and must of used a box cutter cause its not clean looking or nothing. all the alarm components were wire tireed back and forth like they just took any extra wire and ran it to the left then to the right and kept doing that till they were short. it was just a huge mess. they used crimp on couplings to attach little wires to make other wires longer. so it was like wire from harness crimped to a 2" pc of wire that is crimped to another wire.

neway got it out...now i need to install it in my suburban.

  4. stop guessing prices. you guys are way off on everything
topic with the most mis-information, right here

do you have anything productive to say? if everyone is soo wrong then correct them since you know. actually most of the posts are pretty close. depending on the cost of paint its gonna cost him at least 5K. just got my suburban priced at a little over 5K. but i say if ur not gonna contribute other than telling everyone how wrong they are then keep you .02 to yourself......

but for real its gonna cost you some stacks to get it done right and if your gonna spend any amount of money on paint, the only thing i can tell you is get it done right. a bad paint job will make your truck look horrible.

  5. One of my friends works for the local housing authority and they were cleaning out an apt and came across and BNIB Ample Audio Exonic I200 12" sub DVC. Amples site is still up but the phone numbers dont work. What do you know about this sub and/or the company. I can only assume they are outta buisness. It has the 12 spoke with chrome edges. the leads are not woven in the spider (dont know if they ever were). also he wants to put it in his s-10. anyone know what size box and tuning would be good? i figure the power handling to be 350-400rms....just a guess.

  6. Tell him the AP30001D. It'll do 3000@ 2 ohm. If his goal is the 4 15's, and will be a 2 ohm final load, go that route. It's around 300 bucks.

i did suggest that one to him, i think Armyguy is running one isnt he. i hadnt checked price on it though i thought it was around $500.

  7. What's your buddy's budget?

he has an $800 bonus check middle of next month and he wants to buy a touchscreen deck, the sub amp and two subs. then he will get a nice check in Nov and one more in Dec so he wants to build it in stages. total i think hes gonna spend around $2100. but thats for a deck, wiring, components, subs, highs amp, sub amp, wiring, and alarm.
