  1. I want to try my 15" ssd in a sealed box. just to see wat it woul sound like. and the website doesnt recomend it. but ive seen people doing it. but i was just wondering wat size sealed box would be good. i was thinking about 2.5cf. lemme kno thanks

i have my 2 in a 1.75 per chamber they beat pretty damn good

scott from fi said do at least 2 cf each

  2. Im not david but do have input ;) My mercedes has 2 10's with 2k of power subs and port rear. My seats do not fold down so all bass has to make its way into the cab via the rear decks factory sub holes. I have a solid metal wall on my trunk side then my gas tank then another solid metal wall on the seat back side. B4 i put 2 layers of hush mat on the trunk lid it would rattle something fierce and I could actually feel air leaking at the seams. 2 layers later and all I have is some vibration. and my roof actually vibrates a little now.

thanx roscoe im gonna just do it because like would be good for the daily driving and my rear deck rattleing bugs the hell out of me

  3. It's a tradeoff, I'll use mine as an example. I had 4 12"s in a sealed box, proper airspace for each. It rolled of -3db at 46 hz, meaning it would not get low, but was still decently loud, and nice for daily listening on music.

My new wall is for 8 12"s, so space is limited, and instead of the ideal 32 hz tune, I end up with a 38 hz tune. It's still going to be able to get significantly lower than my old sealed box.

So you will be able to get lower with a ported box even though it is slightly small, compared to a sealed box.

For pure SPL, you will need to select a frequency to tune for that works with your car, so that the port can peak at that frequency.

how do you thing that would sound for daily listening the biggest box i can get in my trunk is about5.5 cf i just dont like the 1 note wonders i mostly use it for daily listening

  4. u can see pics in my build and videos

im running my 2 fi ssd 15 in a sealed box on the small side 3.5 cf.

    also i got my 2nd t10001bd today

would my subs sound better in a sealed box with the correct airspace or a ported box thathas about 2.7 per driver

any other reccomendations would be appreciated
