Still around... Long story short I was hanging around the wrong crowd and got addicted to heroin. Tried getting help and ended up relapsing. Then got arrested and did 6 months in county. I've been out for a month now and don't plan on ever going back to that chaotic lifestyle.
Currently just trying to get back on my feet. No car and no job but I am clean!
I also would like to apologize to anyone that I have hurt or fucked over in the process. Those were never my intentions and it will obviously take some time to gain some trust back but the SMD family is worth it
Swung by Steve's shop today to say what's up and let's just say some habits never die... Car audio being one of them.
Hopefully soon I'll have a new project to work on but for now I just wanted to check in

No excuse for any of this. The past couple of years have been rough on me.

I've been watching and admiring. I keep this build on one of my safari tabs on my phone and check in every couple of days.
Been going through a lot of shit. I was going to hit you up the other day to come check out what's new at the shop but I didn't want to bug you.
The Lexus is looking really clean man! I hate looking at this build because I always have a problem picking up my jaw haha! Definitely an inspiration! Keep up the amazing work boss!!

I was going to do the same thing with the jeep. Nothing looks better than black tint. I hate the mirror tint!

as for the EQ.. I wouldn't.
I honestly don't see the need for an EQ with a Pioneer deck especially the 4100
that EQ is probably introducing the noise into your system and trust me its a pain in the ass to get it to where there is no noise -

How bad do those punch 8's sound? I'm interested in both those and the 5.25 punch speakers. Do both of the 8's have some coil rock to them or just one?

the 8's sound fine.. I heard them right before I took them out of my buddy's Camaro.
when inspecting them I noticed the cone is a little loose but then again that could be how the 8's are

I tried them on my test bench on about 20 watts and they got loud and stayed clear

Haven't been on the forum in a while but figured I would come check out this thread!
Thank you all for the kind words!
It helped a ton that Steve takes such good care of his cars but this was still about 20 hours total to get the F Ceramic Coated from the initial paint correction to the final wipe down. Definitely worth it though! Especially for black cars it's almost a must!
