I am working on a new box, this one is for the time being. 1.7 cubes - bigger and better is being built.

just as your saying. the cd skips there is really no resolving that what kind of headunit are you running? if you get a ipod you wouldent have that prob ever again. or get an alpine just to test my alpine hit it while the music was playing and it wont skip no matter what i do

I have a pioneer like a few yrs old, but I have had a few other brands, and this unit seems to get my system the loudest and sounds better.

I was thinking of instead of bolting the cd player directly to the car with its frame that holds the deck, I would put some think rubber grommets in between them

to break down the vibration ..

or just losing the screws a little to help

I have 1-12" and I could never get more in the truck I have a drop top = no room, so I need a alt for the car.

So I re adjusted my amp better, and now when the bass goes to hit the cd skips and I lose the words untill I back down on the volume or bass knob?

What gives ??

if the seats fold down best way in my opinion is subs forward port forward on drivers side... but you have to seal everything off around the box

my car hs the bracing behing the rear seat as well.... cut that out!! i didnt need it and i could fit a HUGE box in threw rear seat

eclipse spyders do not have under body sway bars like hard tops. so the x bar acts as a sway bar to prevent body roll.

If i cut it out it will handle like crap i bet

I can only use a drop in box this box is 18w 14d 14 tall = no room

the car has the X bracing keeping me from pushing a box inside from the back seat area

ok well I normal keep the back seat out, seems to help alot, I have thick leather seats, the back rest pops off, and I put it back in for car shows.

I was offering to build you an aeroported box. If you just want a design I can do that too, but James had offered first and he is more than capable of a good design for you. I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes here. I just figured he's in Cali and I'm in NC so if you needed a builder I'd be the more logical choice since I'm closer. Talk to him about a design and if it doesn't work out hit me up.

as for a aero ported box is it easier for me to build over a slot box?

i would have to do 30"+ wide in order to get my 2.5 cf so thats really not going to work with my trunk, it will not drop in that wide..

so can i use a smaller box in a aero form?

I have TONS of experience with aeros and live somewhat close to you. If you'd be willing to drive to NC to pick up the box I'd build one for you too. It just so happens that I have a bit of experience with single 12 trunk enclosures too. I did a 143.6 out of 1 btl 12 and 1800 watts in my Escort about 2 years ago. Not too shabby, but that was a slot ported box with about 3 cubes of box volume too. It was tuned to 32hz so it did well for the tuning.

Here is my box, I need aero because I have a drop top and I can only have a drop in box,

The bad part is the trunk curves inward so I can only go so wide, a aero would help alot over vented, with my lack of space

this box is

14" tall

18" wide

14" deep

the inside port is 12" inside deep

12" long vent, and only 1" 3/4 wide

seems that its 1.33333 inside

outside is 2.0416

audioque calls for a 2.5 for this 12" hd

I want to shave the emblems off of my Ranger but I don't have a welding machine. I know you can't just slap bondo over the little holes underneath the emblems and call it a day, so are there any other options that can be used?

I would try a rivet gun and grind the rest off, then glaze over it with some finishing putty,..

I like to use wood good, and then liquid nails, the real brand, don't use the cheap kind, use gloves and then pack it around the box, give it time to cure.
