  1. Legal here in CT is 35% but I went with 20 cause it matched my stock back tints. Dark enough so you cant see anything inside the car unless the sun is directly on the window. Its a bitch at night for the first few days but you get used to it. I'd love a 35 on my front but any tint on the windshield here is illegal.

  2. 2002 explorer here, last summer I was driving, heard a winding noise and my overdrive light kept flashing. It wouldnt shift right it was very weird. I shut the car off and turned it back on everything was fine for a while. give or take a month later I pulled up to a stop sign and went to go and at about 3000rpms I heard a very weird banging noise and didnt think anything of it nothing was different. Got to where I was going turned the car off and left about an hour later, When It would shift into second there was no gear, it would just rev until it had enough to shift and slammed into third. Had it towed in, turns out I blew straight through second gear and banged up third pretty bad. I would take it in as soon as possible just so it doesnt get any worse.

  3. i got tired of dimming headlights so i got hids and never had a problem with dimming headlights ever again, ecept some on guages and shit but thats normal

the better ur electrical the better u will be but u got a bigger alt than i do also, i only got a 70amp alt, but i got big 3 in 0guage, upgraded front battery and a stinger sp800 rear battery, all 0guage wire and only running 1000rms and my lights dim a lil bit and i dont go no lower than into the 13.5v range, but its not nere what my geo useto be, hell when i had my mtx 500d wired to 1ohm wich is a 2ohm minamum amp, every time the bass hit my lights would dim so bad they would cut off, then the car wanted to cut off also lol, dunno what im gunna do when i put a real system in it tho lol

good luck with your system mang, i think u can run up to 1000-1500w depending on stock electrical max with stock and not really mess anything up, u will loose efficiency but the beefier the electrical the better :)

Haha I hear ya, Im pretty sure my stock alt is bigger than 70amp though so your right, Im sure i would be good at 1000-1500rms without seeing too many problems.

  4. mine use to drop into the 9s before i got anything upgraded lol

Isnt that horrible for the amp?

Get a quality DMM to check your voltage so you can properly set your Stinger voltage meter. Check before you set, during, and after to ensure the meter is seeing the right number.

I check the voltage coming from the battery or right from the amp? I need to pick one up anyway so I can set my gains properly when the new amp gets here.

youl be fine, had the same amp, all stock, all stock wires... started at 14.0 and only dipped down to 13.xx on full tilt :)

Yeah Id imagine mine will be fine as well. (hopefully!)

  5. I have a steady 12.8 (13.4 at idle with everything off) at full tilt and my lights will dim on kicks.

Stock electrical BTW. No big 3, no bigger/different battery (my next upgrade).

What are you running? I have a stinger voltage meter but I need to meter my batt/amp first before I can set the meter correctly. I set it at 13.0 today just to see what would happen and it dropped into 11.x at one point. So hopefully it idles higher. I can take it to autozone and theyll do it for me right? What do I ask them to meter? My battery?

Edit: just saw your sig, your running at a way stronger amp than Ill be though so Im not sure how bad mine would drop.

  6. its a good amp for the money. im running one at 2 ohms atm until i get my recone for the btl. i have not had any issues at all with the amp. i dont have the big 3 done and i have a hc1400 in the back and my voltage will drop down into the 12's at full tilt on certain songs but usually stays around 13 volts. but you have a bigger alt then me if its going into the vehicle in your sig so you should be fine.

Yeah I haven't really heard many bad things about the amp so I figured I would pick one up. Yeah Im not sure of the size of the stock alt in this car, I think its 130 amps but I could be wrong. I dont have any dimming issues whatsoever with my m500 that I have right now and once I replaced the stock battery with the one I have now everything ran better. So Im hoping I dont run into any problems with the ap.

  7. I just bought an Audiopipe AP15001D. I have stock electrical but a beefy deep cycle battery and 4guage power wire. I have a some extra feet of 4gauge that Im considering doing the big 3 with I just haven't gotten around too it. Should I be alright or should I do the big 3 before I install this amp? I wont be wiring it down to 1ohm just 2 so I believe its only going to put out (if it does rated) 950rms.
