it doesnt clip unless i go over 25 volume but so subwoofer level will send more voltage or tell the amp to give more voltage to the subs which will make it a lot louder correct?
Turn your bass boost off on your amp and put your gain up, Your gain is probably set waaay too low thats why it sounds like nothing is coming out of your subs.
-
subwoofer level on the headunit changes the amount of voltage going through the preouts for the subwoofer. more voltage = louder. turn it to +15 and youll notice a difference. turn off everything as i stated twice already. just do it already.
not to thread jack but I thought sub levels were supposed to say on 0? I have a pioneer hu and i leave mine on 0, going up gets louder but it distorts should I retune my gane with ym sub level on +6?

Test each sub, plug one sub in at a time to the amp. Does the amp go into protect or anything? Something doesnt sound right...
-
you have 2 4ohm SVC subs right? that would be 2 ohms on a mono amp. no matter which + or - terminals you decide to hook up, it will be 2ohms (assuming you paralleled them)
Yeah thats what I was making sure, Theres no way to drop it to 1ohm anyway. Thanks again everyone.
-
orly?
its internally strapped to make wiring easier if you hook one sub up to each side it will run the amp at 1 ohm or conect both pos and both neg from subs and run it to one input will be the same
So even though I have my subs running at 2ohms, even just hooking the subs up to 2 of the 4 pos/neg its still dropping it to 1ohm or is it keeping it at 2ohms? Sorry if I am asking too many questions.

From what ive read your able to just turn it off in a sealed box since its not tuned its just sealed.oh and the wiring dont try and bridge it keep it at 2 ohms...
Yeah I have it set to off right now, I wasnt sure if I should have it somewhere or not and would that be considered bridging even though its a mono amp? Thanks again to everyone for the quick help.
-
How do I figure out the tuning for a sealed box? I didnt build this one is was giving to me by brother a while back whos friend built it for him.
Edit: wait, you cant tune a sealed box? Unless Im confused

What should I set it at? This is the first amp I've had with an adjustable one so Im not even sure what to do with it. (ap15001d) I have it at off right now.
Also the amp has 4 speaker connections but its a mono amp, I have two 4 ohm svc subs at 2ohms, Is it possible to bridge it to one channel on this amp for a final load of 1ohm or am I missing something here...
-
and what do you mean it cant take them?
-
I dont even know how I came accross this but I thought it was funny.
...is it just me or could you actually see the woofer doing that? hahah
-
Id say the buyer is getting raped although You will probably be louder with those 4 than the one 18

I have mine set around 100hz and I never have a problem with highs hitting in the subs or maybe Im not understanding what your saying, I know most people set it around 75-8O, try that and see how you like it.
Oh, I forgot I have a LPF on my headunit set to 80hz so It doesnt matter what my amp is set at so maybe thats why.
-
Your sub is hitting highs?

i feel you man
my chick calls my car my real girlfriend
ty
Mine too haha

What subs are you talking about again? The kickers or sundowns? The sundowns are underated but you can blow a 10000watt sub on a small amp if you dont know what your doing, which, not trying to be a dick, seems like you dont. haha, we have all been there though believe me, trial an error will be your best friend. yes, You're electrical is your battery/alt.
-
yes so the audiopipe 1500d will run 2 12's of those at 600 rms just wire them to 1 ohm, correct?
The ap1500d is rated at 1500rms at 1 ohm but depending on your electrical you wont see 1500. Set your gains correctly and you wont have to worry about blowing them.
-
Yeah, you'll be fine.

This is right from DDMtunings website.
"If both sides are flickering it can be caused by a few things. More than likely because the car can’t supply enough power to the ballasts on startup. You can check this by connecting the adapter cables on the bulbs to the battery with the bulb and ballast connected. If the kit fires up without any problems you will probably need a wiring harness.
If your car has Daytime Running Lights (DRL) if could be caused by the car quickly turning the lights on and off to give the effect that the halogen bulbs are running at half power. If the flickering is caused by the DRL you can try a wiring harness or have the DRL disabled (NOTE: disabling the DRL may not be legal in all areas, check with local laws before doing so). The flickering can also be caused by the car’s self-check system to see if there is a working halogen bulb connected. This can typically be corrected with the BOW3."

No problem, welcome to the forum btw.

That amp pushes 500wrms at 2ohms so run your subs at that and each one will see 250rms, Yes, that is the maximum amount of rms you will be safe with. Dont ever go by peak, it means nothing.
-
alpine mrp500, does 500wrms at 2ohms. 110 shipped.
-
Get a dmm and set your gains you might need it past the halfway mark you might not but you won't eff your subs from your gain bein to high
Thats a joke right? Thats the main reason people blow their subs.
-
I use the alpine amp, pushes everything Ive thrown at it very nicely.
What amp?

4 DC 15s can handle more than just one ap3000 haha, you wont really come close to that, no offense. You could get an ap3000 and run it at 2ohms though, It would push those subs nicely.
