  1. How much port area would I need with 2 4inch ports? I used psp-inc.com's calculator and found 9.5 inches. How long would my 2 4inch ports need to be?

9.5" from outside of flare to the end of the port. If you flare both ends of each port outside of flare to outside of flare. Put the subs and the port on the same side of the box. If you use those adapters as flares then i would sand them as smooth as possible and make it nice and make the airflow nice and smooth.

  2. OH, you are asking where on the box to cut the holes for the port? I have played around with ports forward and backward, slots and aeros, I have had the best luck with aero ports forward. I have the ports between the subs, but someone recently told me to move the ports to one side and I should see a gain. I think i will leave them centered. Everyone says flaring the ports inside and out will give you a noticeable gain. I am in the process of making my own flares, and hopefully in the next week or two will know if it does make a difference.

  3. I kinda think it's a wise idea to go the electric route, especially nowadays like the OP said. With any nitro, you'll be buying fuel, glow plugs, batteries for the glow plug lighter, air filters, etc. It ain't cheap, which is why I'm trying so hard to get rid of mine. Treated correctly, a brushless system should require a heck of a lot less maintenance. I'll say it again- I'm a fan of Revos. The two vids posted show it can take a beating pretty well, like its larger sibling. However...2wd is more fun if you wanna be able to step the rear end out and slide the truck around (even) more...

I use Nitro cars. I have a Jato 3.3, Ofna Hyper 1/7 and a Revo 3.3(my wifes). A gallon a fuel last us a while, and since both of ours have the easy start, with rechargeable batteries, we dont have to worry about glow plug lighters. After having the easy start, I couldnt go back to pull start. I love the sound that the nitro cars make. I did consider going Electric, just cause you dont have tune them, and worry about fuel, glow plugs ext.

Check out Losi, they have some cool looking cars too.

This is the Speed T, its checp, but the base price doesnt include the battery or charger(if i read it right).

Looks like a cool car though.

Tent T Nitro comes with telemetry on the remote showing current and top speed, temp ect. plus has a engine start from the remote.
