I ordered my BTLs seperately. One came with the boot, one didn't. I like the way they look with the boot better. They are loud as hell. :hairtrick:

I believe he was the executive producer? Weird. Imagine being a musician and getting someone to cover your song and you supervise/call the shots. Again, I find this kind of weird.

Seems I may have jumped the gun a bit. Some tracks on the albums are clipped, some aren't. I guess I have to check every single track. Seems like a lot of Three Six is clipped, even stuff they do for other people.

After reading so much about clipping, I decided to do some testing. I've been ripping wavs of actual released I own the hard copy of. I think there might need to be a list of albums that have come out that are clipped. Just out of the first four I've tested:
Three Six Mafia - Da Unbreakables
Bonecrusher - Attenchun!
Both of these albums are clipped to shit. Very disappointing. Two of my favorite albums for beats. Just out of the couple songs I tested off those, there were practically clipped throughout the whole thing. I wonder just how many official releases out there are clipped?

Good shit guys. I've had pretty good luck with all the subs I've owned over the years. (DD, Kicker, RE, JL, Onyx, Fi) I blew one of my 15 L7s, first time I released the magic smoke.
Was quite a shock to me. Then the old Onyx LSX 18s, seen here:
I believe it's very close or the same as the RE HC. Originally had two, but went to one when I got my Impala. Put my Orion 2500d at 1 ohm on it and it died after a few weeks. Reconed it, lasted a few more weeks and died again. They'd take 1,200 all day and all night though. I miss those subs, they sounded amazing.

A friend of mine hears OJ on Sirius all the time so I had to get it. Well I DLed it 'Otha Side of The Trap' and I'm not sure what to think. This is a studio release and not a mixtape? None of it really sounds good in my car, maybe the rip was bad. Just doesn't sound high quality to me. 'Washing Powder' is a sweet track though.

Well I do like to beat on my subs. I don't go full tilt for more then 20 straight minutes. I had a couple people say the same thing about my last wall (4 sx 15s) and those lasted over two years, until I sold them, they never blew.
Sometimes I wish I could smell, most times I don't. Especially when farts come into play, lmao. People cannot get me back when I fart all over them.
In the past it was amazing what I had to do to prove to people that I could not smell. Sticking my head in a cooler with a bear hide in it (back when I lived in Alaska). Friends couldn't get within 10 feet of it, here I am sticking my head in it like it's nothing. Same goes for ammonia and mekp. -
Both batts are brand new and rest at over a little over 13 volts. Coils have a heat/copper smell to them? Same with excess glue?
Smell enhances taste to a large degree. I can taste just not very well. The medical term for no sense of smell is 'asnomia' I believe. Been awhile since I researched it. Used to be in a yahoo group that had tons of good info on it.
I've read a lot of new subs will stink for the first month or so. Hoping that's the case.

Eclipse 8053 sends a pretty strong signal. Gain isn't even close to maxed. I'm sure some songs I do clip that amp though. I've only killed one sub I've owned in the past 8 or 9 years, I'm sure if I could smell I coulda stopped it before it smoked.
And yeah, not more then a few hours played on the BTLs.

Well, this subject is kind of hard for me to talk about. I was actually born without a sense of smell, so no I have never smelled anything in my life ever.
With that being said, a friend that I work with and give rides to, has been saying my system kind of smells. He's not into car audio, but he said it reminds him of heated up copper. My BTLs do get a tad warm after really laying it down for a good 15-20 minutes, but I'm not sure if it's them or not. Do subs have a distinct smell/stink to them? Subs are pretty new as well, not too much play time on them yet. What does a smell of 'hot copper' indicate?

I have the same amp & fully loaded BTL'z, i think the power is not enough for them i need another Mojo amp but they still slam
Mine will barely get warm when I'm slamming on them for twenty or thirty minutes. I get nervous because I was born without a sense of smell, so if I'm cooking coils, I won't notice until it's too late. :mad:
I'd be nervous giving them 4kw each with how hard I am on my equipment. I'd love to see the full potential of these subs though.

So, I did a wall for 2 BTL 18s in my 2001 Impala. I've used a pair of Q 18s before, but they just weren't loud enough for me. I must say I did not expect the BTLs to sound this good. This setup replaced a wall of 4 RE SX 15s. Both walls were/are powered with a Memphis 4kw. Of the walls I've had, I've never been able to get one to sound good with rock/metal. This is no different with the BTLs. Might be how I have things crossed over, settings, etc... Rap sounds absolutely phenomenal. :hairtrick: I definitely need one or two more component sets.
The wall is 14 cubes, tuned to 35hz, 192" of port. I really wanted to tune lower, but these still handle the lows like nobodies business. I'd say between the 4 SXs and the 2 BTLs, it's very close. The BTLs sound a lot better though and for the most part are a touch louder. No TL meters around here, so no official testing or numbers yet.
I'm wondering how much louder they would get with 3kw on each sub. :hairtrick:
Just wanna say thanks to Fi for making an incredible sub. I think it's gonna be awhile before I get louder then this.

Hey guys, looks like my wiper motors are busted. Have never seen this before on any other vehicles I've owned or used. How easy would these be to replace myself? I drive an 01 Impala. Been looking around for replacements and see prices all over the place, from 30-100 bucks. Not sure how to do this myself.

your pulling 600 amps of power and only generating 190 and wondering about voltage drop? i know you got batteries, but still..........
Every thread I've read about this problem, nobody had voltage drop. Not saying it's not the case, could be with this guy. I have a 200 amp Iraggi alt, with a PM d3400 and d3100 in the trunk. Using a Memphis 4kw on my subs. I'll check the voltage when I get my car back, but I'm not so sure it's the issue. My batts rest at 13 volts, so the must be getting a good charge.

I have this same problem. Searched every forum known to man, found a couple threads from people with the same problem but there was no definitive answer. My car is in the shop tell tuesday so I can't do any testing on it. I'm thinking it's either amp or possibly RCA related. It's extremely frustrating.

man i gotto get on this. im out im northern MN and a huge fan of rap but havin a ass of a time findin any newer shit thats coming out that i can acually bang out to. im just 30 and not into the solja boys and T pains n shit comin out. no disrespect to the artist its just not for me. im def a fan of the westcoast sounds though. always something to make me feel like it aint cold here ha. Psyph got my support aswell as CHP. i just gotto get connected so i can get it here now lol. any links to order up?

Haven't heard it with any bass yet. Just on its own, without bass, I'm not diggin it at all. Had high hopes for this. My opinion might change when I hear it with bass.

Was wondering how many Slim Thug fans we got here. I just downloaded some mixtapes in anticipation of the new album. I think I've been jammin' 'Theme Song (Hoggs On Da Grind)' as my ringback tone on my phone for the past year at least.
Was quite a shock to me.
