  1. I'm looking to go bigger this fall/winter and will need to redo my suspension. I'm looking at a lot of weight (4 BTL 15s walled, 3-5 D3100s in the trunk, 2 Sundown 3500s, etc...) I'm pushing the limits already with my current setup, so I'll have to take care of this before the build starts.

I put up posts on Impala forums and basically got laughed at and most everybody said to just "get a truck". Nobody could really help. I don't really want to spend 2+ grand on a full air ride system, but I will put down some cash for something decent.

The only thing I've really found is this:

But not sure if they would be the way to go. I need all the help I can get!

  2. nah im always stuck without gas funds FTL. start workin very soon though. then ill hopefully to be able to atleast ride down and meet up with everybody. you went right?

Yeah it was a pretty good show. I guess you'll see when Anton gets the video done. I was the second loudest with a 152 at 41hz, did a 151.4 at 32hz. It's nice to be flat from 30-50hz lol. Gonna make the Brainerd show? I haven't really decided on going yet.

  3. Bruce!!! Holy shit, suprised to see you on here! New build looks AMAZING and LOUD. Kinda sucks there will be no shows in North Dakota this year. Ron and I are doing MidwestSPL this year. I like it a lot more than MECA. Would love to see this thing at the next show in Minnesota! I think it would do real well.

I love the equipment choices as well. Glad to see you got rid of that other stuff.

  4. ha gotcha. i added ya as a friend here too lol gotto keep MN tight lol nah but for real im still bummed i couldnt make it down. got the gas money after it was prob over with FTL. hope to move to stcloud, a lil closer to where its all at instead of way the hell up north in Hibbing lol

Was about a 3 1/2 hour drive for me. Was well worth it though. Finally got to hear a vehicle louder than mine. Lol. Chris's Cherokee is just plain sick. Was a great show. So many people that were close to a 150. I didn't do the burp class, but testing after I would of done around a 152. I'm hoping to make the St. Joseph show coming up.

  5. I believe my internal dimensions are 46 x 32 x 20. The box is double layered on all sides. It was assembled inside of the car. Some people have issues with how I did mine, others don't. Could it be louder? Definitely, but it's still pretty loud and it does an awesome hairtrick.

  6. Well my wall for 2 BTL 18s is 13.75cubes, 35hz tune, and 200" or port. Could probably use a little bit more port area. Here it is:

I did mine simple, just built a huge box and made trim panels. Maybe not the 'best' way, but simple for me. This is in an 01 Impala. Don't be afraid to tune a bit higher, like 34-35hz. With the box you listed, how long is your port going to be?

  7. You are adjusting the VCM, but you have not caught the voltage on the controller up to the voltage on the VCM. Keep hitting the + button and the voltage will catch up and start reading. This will only happen until you program it the first time.

Oh and if you have problems you will get a faster response most of the time by calling us. We are in the office 8:30-5:30(est) M-F.

Still did not work. Sat there for a couple minutes hitting + and it still will not adjust. What's the warranty/return on these things? After this and the remote start issue, I might be done with this.

  8. Hey, I just installed the VCM with my new alt just the other day. When I hold down the + and -, I can get into adjustment mode but can't make any adjustments. Pressing the + or - seems to do nothing.

Also, another major concern. I have a Viper 791xv remote start setup in my car. Was cold as hell today so I used it. Went out and of course the VCM is not on since it's on an ignition switched fuse. My battery light was on. Am I getting nothing out of my alt since the VCM is not on when using remote start?

  9. Well, here's a bit of an update. Cops called me a couple times since the incident. They gave me a name "Wes Sweeney". Asked if I knew this guy etc... The cameras on my work building were unable to get the plate number. However it's a large tinted black Dodge truck.

Onto Wes Sweeney. Never heard the name before the cops mentioned it. Did some searching online and he just happened to turn up on MySpace. 17 y/o kid from just out of town in the city I live. A guy I go to school with lives in the same town, so I'll do some enquiring about this kid to him. Also, just putting his name into Google, a review of some product(s) from a car audio shop in town by him turned up. Coincidence?

I'm going to be cool on this for awihle tell I gather some more information, but damn this is a good lead. I'm not going to retaliate or physically harm this kid if he did do it, but something will be done.

  10. I swear everytime I'm about to start building, somebody has to do something to my car to fuck it up. Got off work last night and saw a nice hole in my driver's side back door window. Tint was holding everything together. I mean WTF. It's the middle of winter. Even though it's been warm out I don't know if I just see a random person going distinctly for my car like that. Shit stinks to me. Luckily we have lot's of cameras in the parking lots at work and I beleive I was in view of at least one, if not two of them. Waiting for cops and work to get back to me on it.

Sucks having to get it replaced and then get it tinted again. My car is pretty well known so maybe they were going to go for my shit, even though it's all been out since October. Alarm could of scared them off. I have the Viper 791XV. The remote did go off, but I was listening to music at work and didn't hear it go off.

This almost makes me hesitant to start my build now.
