  1. do you have alternators already? if not hit up DC ALTERNATOR at 1-888-441-0144

and i ran some optima batteries and had nothing but problems with them.. they seem to charge slow... and discharge slow

thanks for the advice ! i will take it into consideration , i did not buy the yellow tops yet, you and many others are not reccomending them, so i guess i will take them out from my list!! i agree with you that they charge slow, i have 3 yellow tops mounted on 3 vehicles i own.. :)

    appreciate your help bro!

  2. can you fit 3 alts? Marlo has some good ideas

    hello bro,

yes, i've found a place that sells a braket that can hold 3 alts for my jeep. we are currently working out a deal, with 3 250a alternators. hope each 250a alt will be enouf for a 2000 rms amplifier. my amplifier has 40a x 6 fuses!! and on its user manual its stated that the current draw is 55amperes at 1 ohm!! i am lost from these @#$ calculations! :)

i am planning to independently wire each ( 1 alt, to 1 yellow top, to 1 amp, feeding 2 subs ) multiply that 3 times for the whole system :) ...the sound system will be completely independent from the car's system and electric stuff...

  3. as you all can see my site and this forum have REALLY REALLY grown in the last 2 months.  I notice alot of people want to ask me stuff directly.  I just want to let you guys know its very hard to keep up and dont take it personal if i miss something you asked me.  Its not that your being ignored, sometimes with so many threads/responses i just cant catch them all before they get buried.........even if the topic starts with my name in it!

Anyway i try my best to keep up but im sorta busy...i may even read the post and be to lazy to respond right away and then eventually forget about it even though i meant to respond.  Sometimez a brotha just wants to go thru the posts but dont feel like typing so please dont take it personal....if its something REAL important then keep buggin me ill get to ya eventually!

Hello Mr. Meade :) All i got to say that you are my Idol in car audio setups , and it would be my day if you ever helped me on this :

    i have on hands : 3 2000Spl amps ( 2000RMS each ) , and 6 ( 1000 Rms subwoofers ) , i am planning to install them in a 2006 Grand cherokee .. firing up, ported to the back,

My Question is what is this setup's needs in electricity? how many alts? how many amperes? how many yellow tops? wired in parallel? or 1 yellow top per amp :(

i am really confused on how many amperes will this setup sip from the alts and batteries, and i cannot think of anyone who could give me an answer that i trust but you..

I really really in need of and appreciate your help!

    Thank you

    Hamze. :)

  4. Hello my friends ! :)

I am currently working on a wide body jeep Wk build process by myself in my own garage, and when the body build is done, i am planning to install a 6000 Rms system into it, ( firing up, ported to the back )

    Parts on hand :

    - Pioneer AVH p-3150 DVD head unit ( touch screen , double din )

    - Pioneer 6 woofers ( Tsw-3004 SPL ) 1,000 watts RMS each

    - Pioneer 3 Amps (PRS-D2000SPL ) 2000 Rms each , monstrous amps.

I have a humble experience as to the wiring procedure , I am planning to have 3 seperate alternators for the system , each alternator feeding a One Yellow top optima, which in turn feeds the 2000 Rms amp, feading 2 subs... Is that the way to go ?

what should the alternators output be to feed a 2000 Rms amp? is 1 optima per amp enouph? :( , is my setup on the right track ?

i kindly appreciate some help for my build from all of you SPl Wizards :)

    Thank you :)

B.T.W, here is a link for the Body build if u like to see...
