  1. If you get that discount go with the mtx amps man.

i've owned a few MTX amps and they have always done me right. And they are always underrated. They're cooling fans are great and the light show is cool too. Great amounts of power. Great overall amp... I would suggest different subs, but if youre gettin them for only $227 I would jump on that deal for sure. Good luck man. Post pics of the equipment and build whenever you get into it.

And 1 te4001d would be fine for those subs, just don't blast the gain and they will take it.. I've seen them take 1500 watts.

  2. I saw a video on some website a while back where a guy went to europe for about three weeks. His friends went into his room and covered every square inch of his walls, the top of ALL of his bed sheets, his t.v. , computer, desk, lined every drawer, his floor , his ceiling, ceiling fan and blades, they even covered every garmet on a hanger in his closet... Trust me, they got it all. Took about two weeks working every night for like 6 hrs. or so. Poor guy came home from the airport and was so tired from flying that he just crashed on his bed and didn't even try to laugh or get mad.... Very big fucking mess. Something like 30,000 post it notes. Yes , I am sure they said 30,000 POST IT Notes.

you might have seen a different video, but I saw one like this and they used ripped up phone book pages.. haha

  3. the reason its not a good idea to mount the amp to box is that the box will naturally have a vibration from the woofers. This can loosen components in the amp. I recently fixed a JL 1000/1 that two of the diodes had come loose from being mounted on the box, causing the subs to start oscillating. Anyway, the best place to mount the amps are usually on the floor. Or any place that wont shake with the bass, the back dash is usually a bad place to put em cause it vibrates more that the box.

steve has no problems with his mounted to the back of his box..

  4. I ended up getting the car... it is super nice for the year. The interior is immaculate. It is dark grey and black cloth interior....It was always garaged and it shows...The girl I bought it from actually entered it into one car show 2 years ago and won first place for nicest looking car there...

As for aftermarket parts... There is nothing done to the engine... It is completely stock....1.6L 4-cylinder.

It has the body kit (which is very nice) and it does have a dual exhaust.... Yes, kind of ricer-like, but it gets 35mpg and it is quite unique to have dual exhaust on a civic..... I MIGHT put a cold-air intake in it later on....after the system and everything I want done to it is done...

It has stock rims on it right now because the girl I bought it from always takes the chrome ones off during winter months....The rims are 18" and fuckin nice. Two of them have brand new Kumho Ecsta ASX tires on them, but the other 2 have worn tires.. So I need to get 2 new tires before I can put them on, but it shouldn't take long for those to come along....

I need to also get the timing belt changed because it has never been done.

Here are a few more pics of it that she had taken after the car show...

  5. Looks sick for sure man!

Thanks Man! I appreciate it! I will get more pics of it tomorrow when I pick it up... It looks like it has so much potential doesn't it??

First things I'm gonna do are:

    1. Buy a Viper 5009 Alarm

    2. Tint Windows (5% back windshield and back 2 side windows and 20% on door windows and probably some 35% on the front windshield)

  6. Well, its been 6 very very long months since ive had a car and since I just now finally landed a job at HHGregg I decided it was time to buy one now that I will be able to make the payments on it by myself... I'm getting it for only $6000.... I'm not going to spoil it because nothing is for sure yet but im 95% sure I'm getting it....

It's a 1999 Honda Civic EX coupe. I can already picture the wall and subs sittin right behind my head :D :D

Here is a teaser pic for all of you.

  7. ok so i bought my alpine the other day and it has 2 volt pre-outs. well, i hook up my Fosgate 1000bd i was using and it wasnt anywhere as near as loud as i thought it should have been. i had it on the 2 DD 12's running the same ohm load (2) as when i had it in the bronco and the 12's were like 5 times louder.

is it because the cd player in the bronco is an eclipse with 5 volt pre-outs or because i had twice the cone area in the bronco?

there is a separate subwoofer control on all alpine head units... you need to turn that up to +15 for it to get full signal from your amp... It will sound wayy louder if you adjust this setting...the pre-out voltage shouldn't make that big of a difference.
