i have nothing but the knu klmx wire in my truck and have had no trouble, i have 4 runs from front to rear, two pos, two neg, 290 amp alternator, and 2 ap 3000d's, wire never gets hot, i love it
Sweet, this makes me feel alot better about my purchase, i thought i had messed up there for a second LOL.
-
exactly^^
i'd do a 300amp fuse on the one run from your alt to your front battery. if you want to be extra safe, toss a 250amp in and keep some spares with you in your car.
K, thats kinda what i was thinking, Thanks for getting this straight for me guys.

the alternator to the battery + wire only needs to be one 1/0 wire. the length of it will be short enough to handle the extra current. just be sure to fuse it.
your starting battery is under the hood, correct?
two runs of the CCA wire should be done from the front battery to the rear battery (if you want full power potential)
Upgrading your grounds is always a big plus. do as many grounds as you can from your frame/motor/alternator to your battery. grounds are often over looked. electricity works in a circuit, so if the ground restricts your flow at all, your alternator will not be able to move the current as well.
hope that helps clear things up a bit for you.
clears up alot of things, im going to be running a 300A alt, what would you fuse this power lead at?

Congratz Steve. Keep em knocking

what are you calling BS on? just curious for your input.

This is a noob question but im going to ask anyway. since i will be running two cables from the alt to starting battery positive, will i have to run an equal ammount of leads to ground?
-
Ok. Thank you for your response. My bad about being a bit snappy Qx4. Been a bad day

It's not a double post I never said anything about running two runs of this cable in the first one

I should have done more research before I bought this cable as it does not meet my amperage needs. Before I sell it I had one question. I'm going to run one iraggi 300a alt to power my entire vehicle. If I were to put two runs of this cable from alt to battery would that be sufficient to handle 300 amps being delivered to the starting battery? The same question goes from the starting battery to the battery that is going to the rear of the vehicle. Thanks in advance for the advice

just our of curiosity, how many amps do you guys think the T20001 will pull playing music? 175-180 maybe? im just curious.
-
worst case i think i would just do like the fella earlier said, just run some 4 or 8 to the 4channel
-
Slappin, your pic in the info block is the shit LOL
-
Personally...Id run some 4 or 8 gauge to your 4 channel. But thats just me. Keep in mind your t2000 probably does close to 2500 maybe and your 4 channel will do 500ish.
And its not about RMS it can handle . Its amperage .
Yeah, i seen that it was good for about 250 amps. But that is what my T20001 is fused at. Am i going to be good with this wire?

I bought the knukoncepts KLMX 0/1 cable for my install. Charging with a 300a Iraggi. I am going to be running a T20001bd and a T4004 off of this cable, is that going to be sufficient? I have read that the KLMX cable will hold 3k rms. Just needing some input.

yup, thats just how i roll kid. Im 30 years old man, i remember sparkomatic and 8 tracks and shit LOL

This is a funky pup

The funky pup subwoofer is a really cheap baby sub that only holds like 50 watts max. Very low excursion, very small stamped basket and magnet. You get them at the flea market or something like that, i dunno, i have never personally seen one but i have seen others like it. I know fultron used to make a sub called "Depth Charge" and they were a low power sub also that didnt take much more than 100 watts max. People make comments about the pups as a humorous joke.

I recently just puchased what ur talking about and yes the door chimes and other stuff wont work, that harness kit comes with a bunch of different wires, i havent fully looked them all over but u might not need to hook them all up but it wouldnt hurt to do it anyways whats an extra hour of ur time to get it done right. I know i will be hooking every wire it says i need to have up in my car .
Yeah i didnt want to be a tight wad with the cash, i just wasnt sure what all i would lose without it. When you install this, is there any way that you can hook this up where no music comes out through the speaker that the chime uses? Im replacing all speakers and amping them so i dont need the output from the other locations.
