  1. im not buyin no junk(rockford fosgate) after my experience i just had with gettin my t8002 repaired and a month after my warranty ran out it blew up. no thanks the new rf stuff to me is worse than china shit. now the old bd1000's thats a different story ive had like 6 of those and they are very strong amps. i had 2 15" power hx2s and 2 15" punch hx2s in the back of my car walled of pretty much on 2 bd1000's and it sounded good lol should of kept that stuff. it did a 150 or close on the 2 power hx2s with a bd1000 on each. but i will never buy any of the new rf products. new rf=shit old rf=good shit lol

I feel u on the disapointment of something failing. I wouldn't go as far to call Rockford amps junk though. I have been out of this scene for a while but I have never had a Rockford amp take a dump. I have blown alot of their subs on the other hand. I always had good luck with them. Like I said in an earlier post I stll have 3 of thw waffle amps from 1993 and they are still bad ass.

  2. Im cory, was into the car audio scene way back in the day(94-95). Im trying to get back into it, just purchased a rockford T20001bd and looking to throw a BTL on it real soon. I aint had any bang in a while so i figured id give it another try. I found SMD by doing a google search for car audio forums and luckily i found this one. Lots of great information here from alot of very smart people. Keep up the good work guys...

  3. You can get kicker subs fairly cheap and for the money, they are good quality. If budget is a real issue, try looking on ebay at refurbished kicker amps or used amps. My little cousion got his first car not too long ago and i hooked him up with an older L5 15 and a kx 400.1 for under 350 bucks shipped. all we had to do to get that thing bumpin was to thow it in a decent box and he was good to go. As for capacitor, i would just use that money to try and get a decent battery of some sort and enough wire to run from your battery to your amps and of course, the Big 3.

  4. Anyone ever use one? Any good? Might be picking one up.

I had one of these back in the day and then it was a good unit. The pa2 might be a bit better though as the progression of technology would make a better unit. I am all about old school stuff don't get me wrong but there are signal processors and eq's now days that would probably clown this unit. That's just my 2 cents though. Opinions will vary.

  5. Im just kinda bent about the police situation here locally in my area. A group of my freinds and I went out for a bit the other night and we popped in at a local sonic. We are there minding our own business just BS'in about cars, stereos, mods, etc. Then out of the blue. Barney Fife pulls up and says no loitering. We did have a nice sized gathering but there was absolutely no trouble with us and we were buying stuff from the fast food joint, I dont get it. They should like groups like us because we are spending like 2.50 a pop on drinks and not to mention the cost of food there. We left and went to another spot, we were there for bout half an hour and the same crap goes down. Im just kinda bent because enthusiasts such as myself and company cant go hang out in a parkinglot for an hour or two sharing our thoughts on a common intrest. Is there any way to beat the cops LOL? Any suggestions?

  6. I'm running alittle over 10kw and I hate it!!!! I hate getting in the car and haveing to worry about my voltage, and having to throw the batteries on a chrager everyonce and a while.

I would say ~1500w rms to bass 75w a speaker.

I did an install with 2 12" re se's, on an xt-4000d, with 2 sets of orion cobalt door speakers with a 400w soundstream high amp. And that is just about perfect. Loud enough to impress some people, with out having to worry about batts, alts, tons of 1/0 runs.

Yeah, having to worry bout stuff like that is a pain, thats another reason i want to kinda keep it simple, i just got out of a headache (EVO) and i dont realy want another one HAHA

  7. Man right now you can get a sundown 1500 and 2000 for like 425 which is an amazing price. I wouldnt trade them for anything im infact getting 1 more 2000 soon. I believe they are spl. Quality and looks are unheard of and service is great. Whats your price range if you dont mind maybe i can help ya out if you dont mind me asking?

When i get to that point i would spend 1500 or so on a good sub amp. like I said earlier i dont want to go 2 overboard with it. I was looking at the rockford power series also, because i know the name. I would reallly like to have that 4000watt monster they make but i think that is gonna be too much for me HAHA.

  8. Yeah, I used to use rockford stuff alot back in the day. Back then you couldnt beat it. I have heard alot of good things about them now as well. Sundown on the other hand i have not heard to much about other than on this forum. Every one here swears by them. What kind of quality are they? Would they be considered SQ, SQL, SPL? I have seen pictures and specs on these amplifiers but thats about it, never heard one in person.

  9. yeah, i was thinking 3000 w. is alot of power for a DD. i was thinkin like 1500w. to a Fi Q 18 or something of that speed. Not real sure what to use for highs and mids right now though, i still havent done enough research on any of the components other than the big 3 and alternator and such. Thats kinda where i wanna start first is the charging system and the high end first then add the sub when i can get what i want.
