I had the vid muted, so the first 2 minutes of a guy by a pool blowing smoke in the camera made no sense. I'm guessing your doing a different coil configuration?
I blew a coil at the last competition. Figured I'd blow the other coil since I'm goin to recone anyways.

It's most likely an aluminum or steel basket. Just get a recone for it. Gut it. Then weld it back up. And you will be good to go.

I've never tried birch. Been wanting to. At 30 bucks a sheet I figure I would rather screwup mdf than birch. Mdf is about 20 bucks a sheet. My next build is goin to be nothing but birch and a metal frame. Then fiberglass to sealit.

The Death Penalty series can take 2000 watts of power (clean) easy. As far is additional accesories. I would recommend putting a good layer of second skin or so all over the trunk if you are putting it in a trunk. Then do a layer or two of Rhinoliner and that will keep cancellation from happening. As far as the box goes. If you are doing 2 12's. I would say that 3.5 cubes at 35 hz with 100-140 sq in of port. Hope the build goes well for you.

I'm using a pioneer 3100 dvd. It has the aux jack and usb on the front. Good hu. Only thing I don't like about it is. Very low pre amp output voltage. I really need a line driver.

The amplifier may be clipping and cutting the signal. Or the amp isn't getting the pre amp voltage it needs. Or it just may be the amp is having internal problems.
