  1. i like you raytard, buts thats not accurate.

im not sure which brand makes the paint you're looking for, but it could be VERY expensive. some of the paints i've used (like dupont's orangello) have been over $300 A QUART, and that doesnt include clears, primers, or anything else. thats strictly the color layer.

if you get a more intricate paint and if you start adding pearls and such, it will be more expensive.

for such a large vehicle you will probably get raped on pricing, unless you'll do it yourself. my guess is that it'll be in the 5-10 thousand range depending on quality.

Diamond White is basically Cadillac or Buick white. More or less a pearl white... But yes ^^^ you are correct in that pricing for just the paint can be thru the roof. All depends on what color you are getting and how big of a vehicle you have. It is very hard to give you a correct price or even something in the ballpark because it vastly differs from body shop to body shop. If I have time today, I will check and see what the price of just paint for your car will be. no guarantees tho.

  2. they come anyweres from red to purple, red's are 1500-3000k i think, then it turns more white n what not, y the hell do u need pink lights?

Yeah I know the kelvin chart quite well. Too much time spent with marine and reef aquariums :D

As to why someone would want pink hids....I guess for the same reason someone would want straight purple ones...just for looks.

And to the dude with the S-10: I am pretty sure your stock housings will be just fine with HID's

I will do some research on it when I get home from work. I will let ya know if I can find any information on it bud

  3. I doubt it will make all that much difference at all if you get the hi/lo kit man. If I understand correctly, the reflector only gets changed when the highbeams get turned on. So in theory, if you place a hi/lo kit into a low beam wiring harness, the lows will be the only one to shine. Won't change when hit your high beams. Now I haven't messed with many hid kits so what I say may not be correct. But thats how I interpreted it.

And I live out in butt fuck egypt as well and I hate not being able to see for deer. So I plan on buying a light rack and just tossing some offroading hid lights up there and call it good. Ever consider that tacoma?

edit: My hid kit will consist of either 8 or 10k lows and thats it. I wont even bother with the high beams. Maybe toss in a high wattage halogen but thats it. I did find a good set of hid rack lights but they are a grand for a pair

  4. If i get the hi lo hid will i have regular lights on lo beam and hid's on hi beam

Here is an example to help ya out:

The old body style(2000-2006) Chevrolet Silverados have a two "headlight" bulb assembly per side. One for the highbeams and one for the lows. I believe the Ford F-150's have just a single bulb on each side that acts as both.

And if you buy a hi/lo hid kit. Both the lows and the highs will be hid.

What model of car/truck do you have so we can tell you what kit you need to buy.

  5. If you stick with 98-99 I think you will have the same dash as the one you have now.

If its a 98-99 then it will have the style dash that came right before they changed to the 2001-06 style interior. It will have 6.5 in the doors plus a seperate tweeter located mid way in the door. If you can find one for a good price then I would say go for it. I love my 1999 4 door hoe and its still running strong with 147k on it.

  6. It happens all to often. I had it happen to myself when I was with Bank Of America. Charged me almost $500 in overdraft charges for buying some audio stuff. They said I deposited a "check" when it was actually a stack of $100's. They stuck to their word until I asked them for the check number and the tapes of that day so I can prove to them that it was cash. Some how it magically turned into a cash deposit on their screen. I closed my account that day as well as one guy behind me in line at the teller.

My advice is to stay away from Big banks and stick with the small town community type banks. I have been happy with mine ever since I switched.
