  1. sorry but i dont want to build a box 4-5 cubes, thats to big sorry the box desgin i added up top is wrong, the calculator i put them to needed tweaking, so this is the new box desgin i have made, same layout as the picture in first page of thread. let me know what you guys think to this. 2.29 cubic feet tuned @ 34.69hz 31.25 square inches of port top 31x14 bottom 31x14 L side 12.5x13 R side 12.5x15.5 front 31x15.5 back 30x15.5 port 12.5x26 (2.5" opening) also, re recommends 1.0cube at 35hz, should i stay in the 35hz range or go lower? i want a bit of sql
  2. yea the design is on the first page of this thread, and i was just going through this forum and found a guy that made a calculator up, punched these numbers in and it says this box is tuned to 38hz when it should be 36hz? dont know how accurate the program is though. i was thinking of buying a new sub amp combo but i really think i could be happy with my set up in the right box, p.s the infinity speakers are both suppose to be rather for 4ohms p.p.s the box i have in right now when i put test tones on from 30-39hz, its to the T perfect! but music sometimes muddy and just not right.
  3. i dont have components just 2way infinity 6.5". powered by headunit (alpine cda-9830) and i just put in an order for a set of rears the infinity kappa 4x6. but what should be my best bet for getting a better sound out of my subs, ie less muddy, should i find a shop or someone online that would design me a box?
  4. oh i know, and thats why i wanted it tuned for around 35-36hz for sql, a bit of both worlds. but maybe its just the box wasn't really designed all that well thats why it sounds muddy with half the music i play on it. also what do you guys suggest on tuning, 80hz or 120hz? i found at 120hz it does hit those highs but doesn't hit the lows hard enough. then at 80hz it hits those lows real nice but the highs are not hard. but i believe most people set at 80hz
  5. no there is no port noise the way it is right now firing towards passenger side of truck. and if i built another box i think i might put 45's in the corner and i did sand smooth a bit of the port edges when i made the one thats in there right now. i just cant design a box at all. i just need to find a very good person to help me with that free or if i have to pay, i just want to make 1 box and thats it.
  6. i dont want to add more subs if anything i would buy a new single more powerfull. but wanted to stay away from spending more money other then wood for box. and i like the subs firing up. so you guys are thinking port and subs firing up, what about port noise/air/wind?
  7. i dont do comps. just want a loud daily. and i was told port side was best, and if i port up i dont want to hear port noise. is there anyone that can desgin a box that will perform better then i the one i made? or any shops or designers that can for money? i think steve is a little busy to do one for me.
  8. as for all around? well here is a list of my equip. i have alpine cda-9830 h/u. infinity 6.5 coax in front, stock rears for now (going to get rears and power all 4 later on) kenwood kac-8103d amp and the 2 re re series 10's in a ported box, here is the box i was told to build, im not good at designing so someone did it for me. 1.95 cubic feet tuned @ 36hz 31.25 square inches of port
  9. yea ive always thought tuning lower was better, but he listened to my truck and said, yea its tuned to low, its missing a lot of the higher stuff. but i also had my deck set at 120 on lpf and hpf but i droped it to 80hz, when i had the deck set at 120 it hit all the highs hard but there wasn't many deep lows. i know these are small subs but there has to be a box that can make these things just go wild. the box i just built is ok but sounds muddy with a bunch of songs. not really impressed with it.
  10. well thats what i though, but he seems to think tuning higher is better as he said it will play all the lows still, but this if for daily no comps. the box now is alright, sounds muddy with some music. and i did have a sealed but limited me to how loud i could crank these, thats why i went with ported.
  11. i just built a slot ported box side firing for my ext cab s10, i have 2 RE 10" (re series) 300rms subs. now the box i have no is tuned to 36hz, and my buddy that does comps said he can build me a box and tune it high in low 40's and said it would be a lot better. but i want it loud but want it to sound good, and not just a bunch of air and noise. i like the loud low bass. what are your oppinons on what i should do? or i just sell all this and buy a single 10 or 12 se series at 600rms and get a box made? i listen to everything from metal to rap to trance music.
