  1. Stoners glass cleaner is the shit. It is streak free. It's real nice because its tint safe which is a major plus. I've never personally used the news paper trick, but I know people who preach about it. I like using a dry microfiber cloth and my windows never streak, unless you use a damp or soaked cloth. A good product to use on dirty floors, or seats covered in grease/heavy dirt is purple power. It comes in a concentrate from walmart, and its my favorite thing to use on everything to clean. Everything I have mentioned can be picked up at Walmart. You can get the stoner glass cleaner at Major chain auto parts stores too. I'd stick with the spray bomb type, as it foams and works better, imo.

One other thing I found pretty cool was a sponge/squeege at walmart, which has a built in sprayer, and the handle is filled with glass cleaner. Neat idea if you ask me. I bought one, as I don't have a wiper fluid bottle anymore..

I use stoners glass cleaner and crumpled black and white newspaper. Best. Combo. Ever.

  2. That fabric paint sucks. I got a can to try doing exactly what you are talking about, tested it on a junk door panel, and the fabric on it got rock hard, almost like it had something spilled on it that dried. And it looked like ass.

You could troll some junkyards and look for darker seats, door panels, etc. The plastic and/or vinyl parts you could just paint with a plastics paint or if you used an adhesion promoter before spraying it. This is the mode I'm in right now, gonna start amassing leather for my car, bye bye nasty cloth!

  3. Also, what's the pro's and cons of Inverted? I've seen a few, but never really understood it.

You get a little more airspace and it lowers ported tuning by a (usually) immeasurable amount. In my case though it meant that my terminals were right by the amp so I had a shorter run of wire, and didn't have to either drill holes in the box to run wire or run a stupidly long wire through the port and out. More of a convenience factor than anything.

  4. Betcha dollar to a doughnut something's rubbing against the soft parts of the sub.

Try pulling the sub out and giving it a LITTLE power free-air and see if it still does it. If not, it's rubbing against something in the box. One time I had a similar noise and traced it to poor alignment of the sub in the cutout. part of the soft parts was rubbing against the inside of the cutout. Granted I was running inverted at the time, but it's worth a try, right?

  5. Ok, so I have a 35W 6000K HID kit for my 9006 size headlights. I, however, would like to upgrade to 55W 8000K while switching my current HIDs to my fog lights. My problem: my fog lights are size 880. I was wondering; could I solder two harnesses like the ones linked below in order to make an adapter for my fog lights so I can just use the kit I have now?

IIRC I tried just plugging the ballast into the 880 plug on my fogs and it fits but it can't clip together or anything. I was able to make it work though and they didn't come apart until I pulled them apart. Give it a try. Then you would just have to either modify your fog housings to fit your current bulbs or get some 880 6000k bulbs.

what'd you do to make the bulbs stay in the ballast?

    You mean the plugs?

I didn't do anything, the rubber on the outside of the plug made for a tight seal and it just kinda held itself together. If you really wantet to you could probably tape them together or something of the like.

  7. Whoa whoa whoa.

He doesn't have money to fix this engine so he should buy a new car!?

    Think about it.

OP, if you are even semi-mechanically inclined, you could swap the motor yourself for so much less. Talking like less than $300 less. What kind of car is it? If it's a Honda or Toyota you could almost do it in a day. Get some friends and buy them pizza, rent a cherry picker, and go to town on that shit.

  8. Beyond the pain trying to get it to fit and bolt up you're gonna have to figure out how to make your computer compatible with it. I'm not sure how but with basic logic and ohms law im sure you can come up with some cheater signals to throw into the sensor circuits so the computer thinks everythings ok.

...Or just get a hold of a Tech II and set all the transmission parameters to '0'...they'll still be there but won't trip a MIL.
