01 GP's would need a hi/lo bulb, and I haven't had the best luck with DDM hi/lo kits TBH.
You dont HAVE to have a bi-xenon kit... I have the standard HID low beam kit from HIDEXTRA and when you flip the high beam on its like a really bright version of my old halogen bulbs.
Your kit has a halogen high beam? I've never dealt with those. Are they any good?
To clarify, a friend of mine ordered the 9004 hi/lo kit when I ordered my 9006 kit, and his bulbs shake and quiver like no other, and while they move for the high beams, it makes ZERO difference on light output.

Depends on how mechanically and electrically adept you are and if they are the same generation truck. If you grabbed the engine trans harness and PCM from the new truck, and it bolted into the old, it would just be a matter of matching up the old body harness to the new engine harness. Getting at the harnesses would be the hard part. After that it's just looking at diagrams and splicing wires.
GRANTED it is a lot easier said than done but if you really wanted to do it...
ALSO! If it's an engine that was available in '93, just revised or whatever, you could probably make it work just by swapping to older accessories.

You said it was set to aux and the cord was partway out?
That may be your problem. Does it still do it with the cord unplugged or plugged all the way in?

Those GTP's are notorious for killing transmissions.
If you're mechanically adept, pull the trans pan. If you see metal shavings or glitter-looking bits in the oil, you will need a transmission.

The TV may have a VGA input on it. I know my cheap Dynex LCD does.

As for doing it, if you never have pulled a steering wheel before then don't do it yourself. It isn't the easiest thing and there are tricks to doing it right.
It's not extremely hard. If you're really lost on it you can easily find a step-by-step via Google. I got the tools from Autozone when I did mine (pulled it to replace a turn signal switch.) Pay your deposit, get the tools, use them, take them back, get your cash back. IIRC they may even be able to print out directions for you.

That shit will plug your radiator fast.
Start saving for a new one because it's only a matter of time before it plugs a water passage in the radiator (if you're lucky) or the engine (if you're really really unlucky)

I want to get some HID lights for my 08 VW rabbit also so let me know how they turn out. Im going to go with the 8k though.
I own a 9006 set and I haven't had issues, but that's low beams only.

Are the hi/lo kits the same between the DDM and the Apexcone? My friend got 9004 hi/lo Apexcones for his car, and while the solenoids work, they barely make a difference in light output, and the bulbs themselves shake like all hell (the sockets fit fine but the bulbs are loose?)

If you go to the right place you can get a 30 day warranty on it, and some places I've seen are starting to offer 12 month warranties with a little extra cash.

Your engine heats up faster at higher rpms and under a load than it does just chilling at idle. It's normal.

i will start up a thread saying "car crushed out on the road, completely demolished" and ask for donations to fix it. I agree with HT on this one, unless you can't get one for your truck I would just buy one. It will be cheaper and easier. Unless you have a full metalfab shop at your disposal

I would probably make one out of sheet metal. Maybe get some 18 gauge steel? I think it will be a lot of work to make it look good, unless you are good at fabricating stuff out of sheet metal...

The 2" in/out one at Advance is $30. I got one on my car and it sounds great, a little rumble but not loud at all. I also have a res delete that didn't seem to make any difference.
