Make sure he has every little piece off the kit. If you're missing one bracket or one bolt you'll have an expensive series of heavy used paperweights. Also I would ask how many miles are on the shocks so you know if you can use them or should get new ones. Otherwise just check for dents, bends, cracks, etc.

My friend got hi/lo's for his Shadow, and his don't work quite right either. The highs are very loose, and the light pattern doesn't change much, if at all, between low and high.

I would say a Maxxlink would be your best bet probably, but on Sonic Electronix I found a Hifonics EQ that claims 9V line driver capabilities, maybe you could use that or something similar and then just run splitters to the amps?

Wire wheel is your friend. Whatever that won't take off, you could try grinding off, or cutting out and replacing, depending on structural integrity.

2nd Gen W-bodies (including your Grand Prix) have the batt on the passenger side IIRC? I bet you could run it through the grommet for the PCM wiring on that side. Depending on your car there may be blanks in the firewall too; I know my first gen has a bunch on the pass. side (of course my batt is on the opposite side so I couldn't use those =/)

The amp should have a left and right speaker output. Wire one speaker to each output. You will only get 140 to each sub, but the amp will be able to take it.

If you have the speakers paralleled to 'BTL' on the amp, you are bridging it at two ohms, which it will not like. I did that once and it instantly went into protect if memory serves.

And what the 1 refers to is how many channels are putting out that power. I.E. at 4 ohms you have 2 channels each producing 140 watts, whereas at 4 ohms bridged you have one channel producing 340.

I had the same amp. If you paralleled them it would basically be bridged, which it wouldn't like, as you would be at a 2-ohm load.

I would run one sub off each channel. I ran my R's like that for a while and subs and amp were quite happy together. Not loud, but sounded good for a budget setup.
