  1. i don't think they've made regular PCI graphics cards in nearly a decade. you MUST mean pci express 16x.. in that case, you can buy one off newegg for as cheap as like $35

i was thinking the same thing, even if he did have a comp that still had pci, the rest of it would be so out of date he couldnt possibly run MW2

  2. well, i started the job, still havent bid the guy, all the cameras are mounted and most of the wires are ran, waiting on some extensions for the wires to get in then i will be done buttoning it all up, it hasnt been that difficult so far, just me and my brother (since im a non-ladder friendly raging fat ass) mounting some cameras and running some wires, im thinking i will bid 350-400, what do you guys think?

on a different note, i got a job today (still doing the computer thing on the side) and you are know talking to the new Embassy Suites Shift Engineer!! lol (its a big title for very shitty pay)

  3. I think they're sites down for updates on their new subwoofer line (thats a good thing if you want to wait :-p) contact the site admin of sales and see whats up about that they're usually quick to reply. It's not just you, its doing it for me too. The IB3 is an older woofer from Fi so the price on it is too expensive (its the same price as an SSD) Most suggestions you will get other than AudioQue are going to be a bit more pricey than the Fi. I suggest going with the SSD, but thats your choice... I can link you to my videos on youtube if you wanna check out for yourself what going from two comps to a single ssd did for me. (you also have to remember you're running 1200RMS to two comps, that max out @ 500 each so if anything they're overpowered at even 500RMS) put a subwoofer that can handle twice that in your car and cone area doesn't exist anymore lol... not to mention you have room to get a second one in the future and another amplifier if you choose to.

Thats cool, im trying to stay with 2 twelves though, would you happen to know the pricing on a 12 ssd?

  4. I used to have two Kicker COMP 15" on 400RMS (yeah thats low I know) and now I run a single 15" Fi SSD Dual 1ohm copper coils (with shipping etc. was around $280) and its EASILY 2-3x as loud (i was suprised given less cone area and the same RMS) so IMO go with a 15" Fi SSD they're under $300 and I've heard mine compared to my friends two CVR's and my single 15" hits harder than even those.

DONT get the Q, they're not daily SPL they're daily SQ... Get the SSD, since you want to run 1 OHM off that amplifier you're going to need a Dual 2 OHM voice coil and I'd suggest instead of copper coils get the flatwind coil (that way you can go upto 1000RMS) which in reality is about what that amplifier is putting out... YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED, my Fi SSD 15" hits INCREDIBLE hard.

Been trying to look at FI's site, but everytime i click on the SSD or the Q it takes me to a page with nothing on it, is it just me? If i click on any of the speakers that say "Coming March 2010" it takes me to a page with nothing on it. Does anyone know anything about the IB3? Ive never heard of it till just now. It fits in my price range kinda.

  5. why would you build the enclosure without having subs picked out first?

I was going to suggest AQ SDC's, but that box isn't ideal for them. CVR's sound like crap, but will get decently loud...

I originally started building the enclosure for the comps i have in there now, but then decided in the last few days to just replace the comps, and ive been considering the CVR's, but are they that much louder than the comps? And does anyone know much about AA assasin line? I cant seem to find much info on it? And FI Q's, for some reason there site when i click on the Q series nothing comes up, are those any good?

  6. I have two kicker comps right now hooked up to a hifonics 1200 watt amp. Im looking to replace the kicker comps with something that beats a little bit harder but im trying to stay under 300 dollars. Been looking at cvr's and RE SE's (the RE's are a little bit out of my price range) but i would like to get some other opinions. I would also like to make sure my amp is at one ohm (right now its at 2 ohms). So, any help would be greatly appreciated and after i get what ever i decide on i will post it here, thank you!

O, and the box im almost finished building is 1.7 cubes per chamber, ported, tuned to 35hz.

  7. I have done this type of work for years. The price is really dependent on the type of equipment you use. Install usually is easy because with cameras it is typically plug and play. It will depend if the shop is open ceiling or drop tile, if he wants you to fish the walls or not.

Viewing cameras from a cellphone is possible but it would have the be ran by and online program. Usually remote access has a controller program installed on the users computer to be used.

Don't take this the wrong way but dont get in over your head. There are a lot of legal restrictions around camera systems, and you can get in a lot of trouble if you do something wrong.

Its just a welding shop so i dont think the wires need to be fished, ive talked to the guy a bit (meeting him next week to talk more) And it really doesnt seem that he knows what all he wants. Ive been doing some reading on it and it seems like the camera system would be simple, im just a little confused about the streaming bit. Like do u have to pay a monthly service for the streaming ability? and what if the camera system he bought isnt a "internet cam" setup? Does it have to be bought with the streaming ability? Mainly he wants to catch whoevers stealing his metal and have the ability to see his shop from his house, also wants me to setup two computers in his shop, but thats cake. Either way, i told him that i had never did the whole security camera thing but im pretty confident i can get it done.

  8. So i started a business about six months back and today i had a customer call me and ask me to hook up some security cameras and some computers for his business and he wants the cameras to be able to be remotely accessed from his home/cell phone. I explained to him that i had never did it before but was pretty confident i could do it. What im wanting to know is if anyone on here has any experience/tips for doing something like this, also, what would be a fair price for something like that? Its 4 cameras, a monitor for in his shop and two computers in his shop, all on the same network. Thanks for any help/advice!!

  9. prolly get my post deleted, but if you are looking for a ATX mobo, i have a brand new XFX 750i SLI mobo for sale, its on craigslist here: http://fayar.craigslist.org/sys/1524801901.html i can give you a SMD discount and sell it to you for 65, you pay shipping. I see that you are going with AMD in your post, so not sure if you would want to go with intel, thats what that motherboard i have supports, LGA775 socket.

  11. Maybe hit up the ford/Lincoln dealership parts department and see if they can get them?

Im sure they can get whatever you need repair wise, but if its too expensive you maybe able to get the part number and try searching online by that.

yea, thats what i was planning on doing tomorrow, they usualy are too expensive. Local shop wants 500 dollars to replace both valve cover gaskets, said it takes about 4 hours. Im prolly going to try to do it myself though.
