Well i just got done with a little more testing. I moved the box forward so now its about 2-3 inches from the back wall.
on music- i wana love you by akon
on a burp at 49 hz
-
Idk,, i havnt tried anything but inside the truck. The only other thing i can do now is maybe take one of my seats out to gain a little bit.
-
Well i tried a few more things today to try to gain some dbs.
First thing is ductape around the front baffle and put some bracing inside the box. Heres the score.
Then i put tape around the edge of the subs to seal them off so there is no leaks.
Then i pushed my seat all the way back and put the back straight up.
It also did a 149.3 outlaw. My camera had a little dust on it for this pic.
-
Well i did some more testing. The score went down on music but up on a burp. It did a 144.4 on a burp and a 143.4 on music.
-
Well i got the box done this morning. Im waitin on the gluee to dry then im putting it in the truck. Ill get some pics of it in the truck and maybe a vid or 2.

or a kerfed port
A kerfed port is gona come next as ive always wanted to do a kerfed port.
-
huh... i thought it was more like 3-4 cubes per woofer. oh well.
congrats on the new TL. spoiled bastard
Yea i love the TL. I couldnt never really find any specs on the q powers but ive heard some ppl say that 2.5 cubes is good. I got 8 sheets of mdf so i can build another box if this one doesnt do good. LOL
-
I think they like about 2.5 cubes per sub.
-
how much those q powers run u?
and how did u secure your tube ports?... they look easy to remove (no expoxy or glue)
This was my very first box that i built a long time ago. I had it laying around so i figured id use it. For the ports, I just screwed them in and put some bracing between them inside the box. It worked. I no my numbers will drop, but hopefully my lows will pick up.
-
Here is the tear down of the box. Im redoing it so it will be 1 common chamber. It will be 5 cubic ft tuned to 29 hz with 69.75 sq inches of port. Maybe my 15s will hit the lows now.
Ports removed
Front baffle removed
Divider removed and new port put into place. The new port is 15.5x4.5x37.5

Well i did a little bit of testing today with my new lab. I had an old box laying around for 2 15s so i put2 of my q power 15s in there and wired my sundown 2000 at 1 ohm. The box is 2 chambers and each chamber is 2.5 cubes with 2 4" pvc ports per chamber tuned to 38-40 hz. The first test, i did a 143.0 at 48 hz. Then i raised my pvc ports up about 2" and i did a 143.7. Then i put the ports on the outside and i did a 144.3 and a 143.7. Let me know what yall think.
Im redoing the port on the box now and doing a slot port with 1 chamber tuned to 43 hz.
-
Get that thing finished and get some vids. :hairtrick: :hairtrick:
-
Looking good man. Better add some bracing to it. How many cubes is it?
-
