  1. I have a question for my car. I have a 1985 Buick Grand National Clone which i got on a super deal, I traded a set of 20's for it but it needed a motor. The body and interior is ok. Well, it had a shot 3.8 V-6, so we went and put in a 307 V-8 out of a cutlass. My question is, before the old motor went, the guy i got it from said the tranny was ok, but when we finally got the motor in and fired up, the tranny just stays in first for about 12 seconds, then the joker rockets into second and jerks the hell out of you. We couldnt figure it out, until i looked and noticed the kickdown cable was hooked up but isnt working at all. I mean its totally broken. The tranny is the 200 series. Could it be just the broken kickdown cable or is it the worst...fried tranny?
  2. Hey SMD, gotta aquestion. Dont know if im in the right section but i thought id ask. My wife has a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT sedan which is mildly put together (pics of it will be up soon) well, the fuel level gauge is in operable. Meaning that its stuck on full, but when it runs out of petro, the needle goes down to the "E" and the light comes on. Everything else on the dash works perfectly except for the gauge. Is there a way to fix this?
  3. You can go to www.jcw.com and they carry premolded carpet sets for your exact car for around $120 bucks and sometimes they have free shipping!! Ive order tons of stuff from them with no complaints.
  4. Thanks Dub, but id like to add that, i thought (me being a noobie here), caps were made for storing current like when your headlights dim, which her car does like crazy and thats why we bought the caps. So what can I do to correct the problem. Her system consists of a Hifonics Zeus 14408 4 ch amp which runs a set of MB Quart 6 1/2 coms and a pair of MB quart 6x9's, an AudioControl Epicenter, 4 Hifonics Brutus 12's, a Hifonics Brutus 2608D amp and a Pioneer Premier deck which has 4 volts, all 2 ga wiring, and 10 gauge sub and speaker wiring.
  5. thanks, ill do that., i have another question, my wife has 4 Hifonics Brutus 12's in a sealed box with 1 Hifonics brutus 2608 amp. She has two Kole 5-farad digital caps for each amp. how do i wire them to each amp?
  6. i Have 53" at the trunk so, if you guys mean like 2 subs lining the back seat and then 3 on each side of the trunk, which means the subs are firing towards each each other in a sealed configuration. Im new at this so please dont judge me. Lol...
  7. i was stating that i prefer sealed, but if i have to port it, then i want it around 29-35 hertz. wasnt sure about the tuning thats why im looking for some greatly apreciated help. The subs are dual 4 ohms and have 400 rms each. the amps i do have are 2 american bass VFL 150 amps which are stable down to 1 ohm @ around 1200 watts
  8. Well, it can be a sealed box, and i want it tuned to around 29-35 hertz and my measurements is 53"wx41"dx18"h
  9. Hey guys, big question here. I ve been doing basic installs for a few years so i know a little bit about basic wiring. But, when it comes to boxes and major builds, im a lost cause. Can anyone out there tell me if its possible to build a box with 8, 10 inch American Bass XD subs? It's going in a 1987 Buick Grand National Clone. I want to be able to build it for my trunk, if not, maybe a wall but i prefer the trunk... Thanks
