  1. I think it would be a nice match, i'm sure those subs can handle a bit more than rated. Just make sure his subs can be wired down to 1 ohm in order to get the max power out of the amp. The AQ won't accept 1/0 directly but you can use a reducer so it's all good.

Ok thanks SQ and everyone else for all your help, i think he will be happy at least for right now cause i know later on hes gonna want to go bigger!!!Peace!! Oh, SQ, yeah, hes got the dual 4 subs!!

  2. i have a gp also. i wouldnt wall it even though alot of ppl will bash me for that. id do somethin along the lines of a half wall. kinda replace the back seat with a box. itd work alot better and is easier than a wall in the car.

Yeah i thought about that too, but would i have enuff air space for two AQ 18's with a half wall? And thanks alot fellas for your input!! But would this half wall work?

  3. I had a Pioneer do that on me one time. It was playing fine for a long time just pushing 2-12's and an amp. then one day, i start my car up and i got this loud whine and my subs sounded ugly as hell. I tried everything and even took it to a stereo shop and paid a $40 diagnostic and found out my preamp output on my H/U took a shit! Bought a new H/U and wala, Bump back in the trunk and actually sounded twice as better!!

  4. You can't really do a cut-sheet for a wall - they're specific to the vehicle and equipment. You just have to get in there and ruck some shit up :)

If you haven't built a lot of boxes before maybe a wall isn't quite the thing for you yet.

I understand where u coming from, but the air i want to move, it wont come from the RE's i already have. And someone building me a wall is not in my income level!! But, if i took my time i THINK i could manage and no, i have only built like two boxes in my lifetime, but i want to give it a shot! How can i get this project started.? Please help a brother out. Im looking at the AQ 18's cause thyre very affordable!!

  5. Question, im looking to do a project soon, i had a thread on here before about putting some 18's in a trunk and alot of guys suggested me do a wall. I have never attempted such a huge feat and quite frankly, scared to! But, on the other hand i could actually do it. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what materials i would need? Some decent 18's (used or new) and how do i go by designing a wall? its a 2002 pontiac grand prix! and maybe 2-18 inch Fi's. I looked on these threads and boy, its a lot of work to wall some subs. Does anybody charge to design me a wall with a cut sheet? and how much. I never done anything like this and definately cant afford for someone to do it for me!! But, i want to give it a shot. Also does anybody else make 18's besides Fi and Sundown which they are reasonably priced?

  6. the wire size that your amp accepts has nothing to do with the "big 3". The goal is to reduce the run of wire while also increasing the wire size in the engine compartment for better, more efficient electrical flow, which means your alt will be able to recharge your batts more easily and efficiently. Your amps will benefit from this because now there will be more current being supplied to them for a longer period of time with less voltage drop..dosent matter if your amps accepts 12,8,4, or 0 gauge wire.

You can mix and match batts but its not recommended. People will say that the liquid cell battery will cause the dry cell to run at a lower voltage then it would if otherwise by itself. I personally run a dry cell in the trunk and a wet under the hood and have had no problems. If you are on a tight budget just pick up a dry cell for the rear and when you can just upgrade the bat under the hood for a dry cell also, preferably the same manufacturer.

oh and you can get reducers to be able to fit a 0 gauge wire into an amp that only accepts up to 4 gauge. You dont really need it but if you want to upgrade later on to a bigger amp then might as well just use all 0 gauge wire. heres a link to one http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop/Co...sid/0/SFV/30046

    Now thats great information!!!Thanks alot...

  7. He has a cheap deck, a jensen 7" touchscreen dvd and we think thats whats causing all the riff raff so he's going to replace it with a pioneer and all new rca's, the ones he got are like the cheapest you can get and i dont even think theyre name brand. So, new deck and rca's and we'll see. Thanks fellas!!!

  8. Question.. Im learning cool stuff off here everyday and was wondering...I see alot of ppl including me, do the big 3 in 0-ga wire. My buddy wants to do his but his amps wont take 0-ga wire. He has a Crunch P1500.1 and a Crunch P900.4 and the biggest they will take is a 4 gauge. Does he have to do the "3" in 0-ga or can he do it with 4-ga. Also hes running a stock alt and a stock bat and wants to get a 2nd bat for the rear but hes on a strict budget. Can he use a standard bat for rear? Or can he mix and match (wet-front, dry back)?
