  1. the maximum fuse rating for 4 gauge is 125, you putting a 200 amp fuse on it might not be so clever. i'd step it up to 1/0 pr even 2/0 gauge especially if you'll be running 4K watts. do it right the first round bro.

LOL i didnt realizse that, i think i miss read that table lol well it was late after all anyhow i still havnt gotten round to doing it, i had to work on sunday, late call. i think i'll do it some time this week, and im going to use one 0gauge Wire for the batteries, and 2x 4 gauge for each amp, so 1 0gauge, and then from second battery to amps, 4x 4gauge wires :D

just brought the Orion D5000's! cost me about 850, $1,700 :D

  2. i always say do what you can when you can so if you have to wait on getting another optima then use what you have until you get another one. you'll be fine.

    Thank you very much guys!

Sunday im going to rewire everything, put the 2 batts in, Build a MDF box for it becuase its gonig behind my driver seat, buying terminals, 4gauge wire, fuse holders, fuses,

Ahh one more question, What fuse rattings should i put on the batts? I currently have 1600 rms, but thats changing on tuesday as i'll be getting my 2 orion D5000's :D but i'll be running about 4K then...

Thanks ever so much for all the replys! really appricate the help! :D

i'll take pics aswell on sunday post them here....

  3. I have a optima Yellow top Battery, and a stock battery, i was reading about how to do split charge and then i found out that you could wire them in parrallel.

Is this safe to do? and how basic is it? Do i just run a Positive cable from the fron battery and then run wires from the optima in the back to the amps?

what gauge wire would i need? currently got 2 runs of 4 gague for my amps coming from stock batt.

i have the stock battery under the hood and planning of putting the optima yellow top in the boot, please would any one care to explain as to how i would go on about doing this?

    thanks alot!

    thank you in advace!

  4. Many ppl get viruses because of their network settings.....like having File and Printer sharing on...classic example

well i've come across some cases where there's spyware which stop you from accessing the internet, for these type of spyware its good to use Spy Bot - search and Destroy, its a freeware program, google it and you should find it.

  5. ... he prob wont notice the lil baby in the corner ...

Oh crap, i watched this video today while i was looking for random stuff on youtube just 1 hour ago, i didnt like her cos she was abit to fidgety like moving to much, i was looking for Booty bouncing, but then when u posted link again and said about the baby i just noticed! lol I watched this for like over a minute and didnt realize the baby before untill u said it! haha...

that shows where i was looking then init! lol

  6. oh really? i was going to order from US too but i was iffy about the import taxes etc,, man we can get some pretty good deals , check out soniclectronix prices, (i think i got the name right)

what amps n subs u thinking of running? what do u hav at the mo?

edit: Ps.. iv'e got to get at least 3 yellow tops :(

    Yup!

www.sonicelectronix.com is the only one that i found that ships to UK without any problem.

I called the HM Customs and Revenue and i found out exactly how much they'll tax me. They said it varys from product type to type.

how ever they said that they charge a Import Duty Tax of 4.5% on the tottal Cost inc Shipping. And then a Further 17.5% VAT on the total SUM.

So basically i was thinking to get a Hifonics Colosuss @ $699 + 180 shipping.

    $880 = roughly £500 then 4.5% of = £20 = 520 then 17.5% = £611

So roughly £611 in total, but if someone else buys the amp for you and sends it to you, they can declare value at $250 and u'd pay almost nothing on tax. :D

Anyhow i hope i've enlighted you, and at the moment im thinking of getting the Rockford Fosgate T40001.0bd after reading all the specs.

Any how i've put that on puase untill i sort out my electrical first. lol

  7. Oh, a Londoner LOL, im up in Leeds,

x2 on the UK cars bein smalll!! majoroty of our streets r only half as wide as most in the US.!! ok well, get 2 maybe 3 yellow tops n try2make sure u dont drain them too badly and u should b fine!!

edit: the amp/s would b turning off most likely cos of voltage drops,,back in the day i used to hav an old school polo, u know, the shed types? anyway, 2 amps = voltage drops.. voltage drops = cut out... but it never damaged the amps,. tho im not sure if THEY went into protect or not!

    LOL

Well to be honest, i've saved up quite abit, but not enough for 3x yellow tops, lol cos im going to by an amp from U.S so i dont know how much tax they'll hit me up with, im hoping no more than £600 in total inc amp. If thts the case i can afford 1 yellow top at £180....

Quin nice to see that there are some Bass heads in UK lol

  8. for that much wattage your going to want a new alty with 0ga big3, a strong battery under the hood, and another in the back just to name a few O_o but its allllll worth it if you can afford it :)

I cant get an ALT, Simply because i've been told by people down here that the ALT's that i need will be too big and i cant fit it in. (in uk we have tiny toy cars, man i'd love to have a SUV) lol

Any how, im going to need a Strong Battery at front, and One in the back, Would this handle it?

yea also i'll do the big 3.

  9. Im looking to buy a 4,000watt rms Amp, Now the thing is anywhere i've asked, they've said before u even get the amp, sort out your electrix.

Basically even with only 1,500rms my headlights are flickering like mad, on Late Nite Tip the either one of the amps cut out.

So if i was to buy a Hifonics coloussus 3200rms and say bumping it, what kind of damage would that cause to the amp, if i didnt sort out my power first?

    Thanks
