Okay, so it was installed a couple weeks ago. I forgot about the review. lol. Well, at first the sub sounded great. The low end was amazing. I was a little disappointed in the top end, I am guessing more top end bass near midbass was desired. Well, I figured out the problem. The low pass was set too low. lol. I turned it up to about 120 and it was a lot better. The girlfriend loves it. This was an upgrade for better output on the low end from two 12" SD-V1 subs in a sealed box. She has a little bit more trunk space as well. There was one thing I didn't like as much but it was her car and preference and not the sub. Her rear deck speakers were way louder than her door speakers. I tried to level it out for a better front stage but she didn't like it. lol. But its her setup so she likes it the way it is. Also, at a local meet we tested to see how well she does on the mic just for kicks. She did a 134dB at the kick and like 130dB at the headrest ( I am not possible with the headrest score). It was a while back. So yeah, this was a great build and I recommend this sub and the ap1500 amp to anyone wanting something for the cost. Box with a lot of mdf left over and carpet - $35, amp - $150 shipped, sub used - $75 shipped.

better have a good way of sealing air leaks around the gasket if you want to mount from the under side.
-
have yourself a 12" cutout and then cut another top baffle in half that has an 8" cutout. once the motor is in through the first 12" cutout, put the 8" cutout together and then mount the sub. I would actually do double top baffle with the 8" cutout or even more depending on basket diameter.

bigpimpin91 - can you send me an mp3 version of auto tuned charlie bit me? That is too tight...

it depends on where the batteries float at. if it floats at 12.8 or 12.6 then it is still the alternator giving most the power. If the battery floats at 13volts then its power from the battery.

Yeah, I ran it through Audacity already. Right now Lil' Jon's Da Blow is the loudest at 46hz.
-
Banging is not what I am looking for right now. I can bang with any song. I want to get numbers on the TermLab. I want songs that peak at 46hz. Tones are 30dB and "da blow" is 22dB. Anything closer to tones is what I am looking for.

You have to sign up to view anything on that forum.
Check out this video and it will help you some. I did my first box wrap in like 30 mins and thats me waiting a couple of minutes for the adhesive to get stickier. I used M3 general purpose automotive adhesive spray.

Man, I hope just changing songs will allow me to easily get to my goal this season. I am shooting for a 145dB in AS1. I am completely redoing my set-up for straight SPL as well. This is going to be exciting when I do my run at Carl Casper.

What do you mean recorded poorly? Clipped signals?
-
What you gon do has a peak at 41hz instead of 44 or 46.
BUT... We do have a winner. Lil' Jon's Da Blow. 22dB vs 20dB of Lil' Jon's Bitch song.
-
I'll get them and put them through audacity to see where they peak and if they peak higher than "bitch" from lil jon or not.

edit double post
-
it has to be music. I am competing in MECA in the Amateur Street 1 class.
-
which cd is what you gonna do on? But like I said in the first post, I know one lil jon song that peaks at 46hz and that is bitch on the kings of crunk cd.
-
No wonder I wasn't getting any help. WTF happened? lol. I really thought I typed song. Sorry guys. Who can I talk to to change the thread title?
And I already tried all Young Jeezy songs. I don't want to use something that will not peak at where my car peaks since I don't want to waste current on my little fuse on bass that's not going to help me.
Keep the suggestions coming. Thanks.
edit- I don't think I can use bass mekaniks songs. This is for MECA Amateur class.
-
help? lol
-
I am in AS1 class and I would like to find some songs that peaks high at 46hz. I used "bitch" by lil Jon and I did a 140.9dB. I was wondering if someone knew a song that peaks higher than "bitch" at 46hz. Thanks.

I could care less. I just stated that they have been doing it for a while now. No legal problems for them. Steve can do what he wants because it is his forum.

CACO has been doing for a while. So...

Well, then I cannot wait to see this build get going. NOW GO!

Its a G35. I would not destroy the car to put a wall in it. But I do drive an accord so maybe you don't think like I do.

1.9 cubes net tuned to 34hz.
Its weird that I have a trend of boxes with the 34hz tune lol. This is for an eclipse convertible so space is a big issue. But yeah, sub up port to the rear. flush mount and all rounded outside corners. 40.5 in^2 of port. I wanted to go more but space was an issue again.
