Ok. Thanks for responding guys. Anyone else???

I have heard the Sampson amps dont like daily use, but if its for burps you want i say drop it as low as it will go!!!
I've heard that once from maybe one source & everyone else who says it heard it from the same place. I personally don't know many people that run 8k amps as daily. Everyone in my area is like- Naw man, thats too much power. You don't need all that power. Just get you a 2k amp & some Kicker L7's & beat the block down... LMAO.
-
I would do Dual 1.4s and wire to 1.4ohm not for the sake of the woofer but for the sake of the amp. Keep efficiency up and the amp cool or i'll see you posting another thread "What amp for my level 5s?" in a few weeks.
-Drew
Thats what I was thinking plus it wouldn't be throwing the full 8k at the subs...
-
I'd go with dual 2's and run the amp at .5 daily. Those amps are current hungry. Definately likes a stout electrical.
The amp is only stable to 1ohm Homie.
-
Get 2 DUAL 2's to be safe and run em @2ohm's or say fuck it and get 2 Dual 1's!!!
That was my plan but I believe that'd 8k on the 2 subs & be too much daily for them...

I've decided to keep it kinda simple & go w/ 2 DC LVL5 15's. My amp is a HiFonics Sampson.
My question is- What coil configuration should I go with? Dual 1ohm, dual 1.4 or dual 2?
After talking to Rusty, I'm aware that the LVL5's can take alot more than their rated 2000rms. I'm just not sure exactly how much more. Therefore I was thinking maybe I should change the coil configuration so that the amp isn't pushing so much into the subs.
My amp's specs are:
2600x1 @ 4ohm
4500x1 @ 2ohm
8000x1 @ 1ohm
(approx. 6500x1 @ 1.4ohm)

Definately not. Like my original post, I'd wall it behind the front seats if I were to do the 4 18's...can you fit 4 18's without doing away with the back seat? not really sure how much room you have to work with.
-
LOL. Yeah, my bad. I meant LVL4's. Any opinions on the 6 LVL4 10's vs the 4 LVL5 12's?if your gonna do 6 10's you should probly do level 4's or 4 XL's i dont know how level 3's would do on ~1700 each
-
Still looking for ideas or opinions. Also, I was considering maybe 6 LVL3 10's. Technically, its a tad more cone area but not really sure how the 10's would compare to the 12's as far as being good for a ground pounder...
-
LOL. I guess...Personally i would go with the 4 12's Firing up and keep your back seat. Thats just me though i have no exp. with walls. you could mount the amp to the box too, i think it would be a clean setup.
EDIT: for funny thought.
lol you could be mini meade.
Seems like everyone is leaning to the 4 12's firing up behind the back seat instead of walling it behind the front seats w/ 4 18's.... Anyone else??????

Thanks alot man! Not really sure what you mean by "SRT8 Hood". I believe the SRT8's have the same factory hood. If you're talkin about an aftermarket hood, I do plan on changing it to a Viper Hood.ur car iz bitchin, it would look a lil better with a srt8 hood tho.
i vote 4 12s. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/hairtrick.gif

What do you mean by "transfer function"? I read on someone's topic where they were telling a guy to wall his burban behind the 2nd row seats instead of the b-pillar so that the wave will have time to form. Is that what you're referring to?i think you will be much happier without a wall, 4 12's on 10kw will jam like no tomorrow. personally i dont like the sound of walls you lose that transfer function you would normally have.
-
This would be true in the 4 12's vs 2 15's, but my real dilemma is either to keep the back seat & do one of those choices OR lose the back seat, wall it & do maybe 4 18's. Maybe I wasn't clear on my dilemma in my original post...I'd go with 4 12's also, cone area>larger woofers.
-
Thanks man. Everything wasn't totally finished in those pics. They were just the first couple I could grab quickly. lolwow i like the whole design of your own setup. looks/looked sweet
-
I've had walls & trunk setups in the past. Nothing like looking in the rearview & seeing a bunch of subs behind your head. lolwhat setups have you had in the past? or what are you used to?
This was my last setup before I bought the Mag...
These were 9 MA Audio HardKore 12's w/ 3 MA HK4000D amps on them (1 on each 3 subs)

U2 U35S 22x9.5" +13mm offsetOT,but what rims are those?
-
Do you guys think the 4 12's will make the GroundPounder I'd like it to be?
-
LMAO. Yeah, and you're too damn observant! j/pnice...
but you are parked illegally
and i vote for 4 12s
do you know how you want to run 16v yet?
As far as I'm planning is dual alt w/ the 2nd alt running the 16v & upgrade the OE to a HO. If thats what you mean...
-
About 9 cubes internal..how much room is behind the back seat
-
Well Guys, after months of comparing brands, prices, specs, customer service stories & etc... I've choosen to go w/ DC. I've been talking to Rusty for a couple months & he's an awesome dude to talk to. He always responds & seems pretty cool.
My debate is what to do w/ my build. When I originally bought the car I wanted to go all out GroundPounder, walled behind the back seats. Then, after I got it home, I leaned more to keeping the back seat & do maybe 4 LVL5 12's or 2 LVL5 15's behind the back seat. I just bought a HiFonics Sampson which I plan to run at 16v, which puts it rated at 10,200rms @ 1ohm.
Now, the more & more I'm on SMD, I start getting the itch to wall it out. I don't ride w/ a crew or car full anyway. Its usually me & my son, homie or chic. Not like I'm in "need" of the back seat. I know, I know... I'm tryin to justify it to myself. LMAO.
Here's the project- Its an '06 Dodge Magnum R/T with the 5.7L HEMI. I just added the 22's & an Eibach 2" Drop Kit. Give me some ideas on what to do w/ the system.

If thats the square Brutus', I was looking at them b/c I wanted to do square subs & they would match my amps. After some reserch I found alot of people complianed that the surround tends to tear in the corners. Thats why I decided to go w/ L7's.

You must have a PS3 Slim. I have a PS3 & it plays all the PS2 games & has a 500gb hard drive. Maybe you or whoever got it for you, should have forked out the money for a fat PS3. Their still in the $400 range, mainly because of the backwards compatiblity & ability to switch out hard drives. Just sayin, don't bash something when you are driving the base model..
