  1. i will work for now, without dimensions couldn't tell you how well but something is better than nothing

cheap prefab boxes are very common and mainstream people are usually happy with them until they hear what their subs can do in the right box.

im gonna take dimensions today.....someone told me that because its sealed, and there is a wood in the middle of the box meaning that each sub is sealed separately that could damage my subs at woot....???? true or false???

  2. ok so i got this box super cheap...i bought it before coming in the forum so i know i need to build a box according to my subs and amp...but will this box work at all? will it bang a little? should i just wait till i have money to build one or should i use it for now?

dont know the exact measurements..only thing i know is that is sealed and it is sealed in the midle of the box so each sub has its sealed compartment..

    2000 chevy astro

    subs r 2 PBX ES 15D - 15" and amp is PBX ASA-1500.1D 3000watts

  3. yep. cheap is cheap.

ok thanks for all the comments...so i decided to buy this

KnuKonceptz 0 gauge 20 feet for the positive and negative to the amp...hope thats enough lol....

    Knukonceptz

now for the speakers...they told me 8 gauge to 12 gauge is ok....u guys seen what my setup will be..what do you guys recomend? 8, 10 or 12? will buy it from KnuKoncepz too...

and another thing...i saw that they have this on special...it seems like a sick deal its 8 gauge wire for like $14 but it says power wire...can i use this for my speakers or speakers wire is different?

  4. no capacitor

we should have a banner that says "CAPS ARE FUCKING USELESS" and in tiny print under it "unless you have electrical to back up your system and are using it to smooth voltage ripples inherent in high current usage"

for the price of a cap, get a bigger batt up front and good 0g to run to the back, and you should be fine (by good i mean name brand like knukonceptz/monster/rockford/jl...NOT pyle/tsunami/installation bay/poweracoustik/etc)

a good front batt (like they said a hc1400, or the biggest AGM type you can fit in there) and good og and a good bare metal ground are all you should need to keep that amp happy.

so is there a lot of difference between buying this....

    to buying this monster cables??

  5. reason for it bein 35 is its just a meter. i paid over 400 for a 10 farad rockford hybrid cap and you know what i got? a piece of junk with blinkin lights. i still shattered my alt and batt, had to rebuild my power sources cause i put too much belief into caps. i sold my car along with the set up, the set up is my avitar pic, and now am building a fosgate system, all power components driven by a 600/4 rock power amp, 1 t2 12" rock driven by a rock t1500 power amp, and am installin two kinetic batteries, one under the hood and one beside the sub. ill have it complete this sat and have vids up for proof and show. just remember to take your time and dont blow shit up. lol

damw thanks for the advice man..good thing i asked before buying that cap lol...ill just save up a couple of months then and buy me another battery if i decide to put the other amp on...

  6. no capacitor

how good is sound quest for the wires? where can i get the wires you are recomending?

now for the negative do i need 0 gauge or 4 gauge is ok?

how good is audiopipe for the rca cables? not good ?

  7. you should deff be good with what you got. if its one amp you are fine, its not tremendous power but will do the job, and as long as thats all youre runnin have no worries. now once you add another amp for your mids and so on you will need some more power, until then just sit back and relax while the bass hits.

i have a 800 watts 4 channel amp laying that im thinking on using for the mids...so if i put that one too im def gonna need an extra battery and the big 3 mod?

  8. so im building my astro i have 2 PBX ES 15D - 15" and will be powered by one PBX ASA-1500.1D amp..speakers are powered only by stereo for now..so im only gonna have one amp on the car...do i need an extra battery?. i can get a 2 farad capacitor..would that be enough?..im not looking to win competitions or anything like that just want to have some :hairtrick: in my car lol..

  9. ohh i forgot to ask....i got 2 of the 3000 watts amps...they r 1 channel each...should i use one amp for each sub or one is enough?

am i gonna have any problems with my stock battery and alternator? any sugestion on capacitors? and im still thinking in if i should put an amp for the mids or just power them with the radio...it sound really nice so far with just the radio powering them...

  10. ok so this is my first real build in car audio..dont really know if the brand PBX is good but i got all for really cheap lol...what do u guys think of the brand???

so this is what i got so far...
