I have an aunt that works for Sprint (Office in Overland Park) and she said that it's already been released (with limited availability) but unlike AT&T and the Iphone, Sprint may not be the only carrier with this phone which is why the release is limited right now. The biggest cons are the screen size and watching the battery life. If you leave apps open it will drain it. The Pre uses WebOS (instead of Windows), it's faster than the Iphone and you can have multiple apps running. (Internet, IM, etc) and you only have to touch the app to access it instead of closing out of something like the Iphone. I may switch to it even though I love my Instinct.
I just quit Sprint after 9 yrs service, and I don't understand the hype on this phone at all! to me it would be like Sega trying to sell their 1991 system next to an xbox or ps3 (lil extreme comparison, but you get the idea).
for the comment about simple click between programs, my touch pro offers that (upper right corner lets you toggle between programs)
unfortunately (and I HATE admitting this) the iphone still wins in a landslide.
oh and they are selling it now (limited supply like what was previously stated)

check out Meade's builds....he built a box exactly like this and said with this design it didn't need bracing.
you all disagree?

great info fellas, many thank yous! was always curious about this stuff, but wondered why anyone would choose thick fleece for pods since it will look "bulky" where it meets the factory trim.....convenience is the answer I guess!
thanks again for helpin the newb out a bit

sorry for the newb question, but I saw someone used Lycra material for some pods, and then glassed the inside. their reasoning for the material choice is it's smoother requiring less time sanding/filling.
to me it is nicer due to the fact that it's thinner creating nicer edges for door pods/kick panels, etc.
is there any negative that I am not aware of since it seems most here do not use it (that I can tell)
sorry if it's ignorant...I searched, but no results.
thanks in advance

i know this is an old thread, but the "factory" picture mail is horrible for all of sprint's windows based phones imho. I'm not sure if I can post any links or not, but there is an amazing app that has lifetime updates for $5 (donation through paypal...I assume some kid built the program haha). easy install and fast to send picmail. I used it on the ppc6800, the diamond, the touch, and the touch pro with 100% success rate and great speed.
I know it sounds like I'm trying to sell something, but I am not. if it's ok to post the link just let me know, or PM me
