its not really a tuned port if there is no depth
from what i can tell, if you go with the last design, you'll be tuned to around 60Hz, only for burp machines. sounds absolutely HORRIBLE for daily drive and music...
best off extending the port maybe 10-12 inches, which should tune to around 32-35 Hz
use a port calculator and i would say tune the port to around 32-34 hz for daily use. mines tuned to 39 and i think its too high, misses some of the low lowss
but check out this port calculator, at the bottom of the page

i love seeing ideas pop around and watchin em shape shift, its gonna look good and sound absolutely amazing if its done just right.... good subs great car

2.5 cu ft is perfect for each driver...but just watch the power. 300 watts is plenty to get them moving even enough to bottom them out.
okay guys, i've finished the box
you all prolly forgot about it
BUT LOOK NOW ITS DONE
or there was pretty much no point in posting it

omg, how many pages for one topic!!!

I forgot to mention, I only Checked on kickers site and counted for Sub displacment.. according to the max reccomended port enclosure...(blah blah) you have .65ft^3 to add in bracing, and that should put you at your wanted 38hz tuning.. or damn close to it.
damn nice
thanks heeeaps bro.
very quick haha
very happy.
btw the dimensions are completely ridiculous.
its a special box with different size pieces everywhere, so the dimensions are hard to measure. hmmm
great
thanks guys
ps: that port calculator... in inches or cm??

hey guys please help before i do any more with my build.
i am using 2 kicker cvr 12" subs in a ported box and the box that i've drawn up is around 5.2 cubic feet. is this too big or too small, ported with a slot port still to be determined at 38 hz.
quick replies please, gotta continue the build while im off work...
