  1. So the yukon is gone, had to sell it to cover an unexpected emergency. Got double out of it what i paid for it.. Student loan check gets released on september 29th then its off to find a new ride....im thinking that theres a nice 99 silverado ext cab that could use a little smd love...(note: Wall build is OUT of the question seeing that i have to transport two 3-year-olds daily.....)Ideas, thoughts, etc...im open to your guys ideas...

  2. So from what im seeing RF and Sundown are prob going to be my best bet. Im not liking the fact that the T2500 is only a few hundred cheaper than the T4000... :| but dual Sundown SAZ-2500s might not be a bad idea :)

  3. Just got a 95 Yukon 2 door and am trying to get some input on what amp to run. Got it down to a few just want some opinions from SMD forum.

Subs im going to run 4 12'' DC Audio level 4s

    AND NOW FOR THE ?????

    Fosgate- T40001bd

    Memphis- 16-MC1.4000

    Sundown- SAZ-4500D

    Cadence- ZRS-C5

    Soundstream- XXX-6500D

Big 3 will be done and probably going to run dual HO alternators DC or OHIO GEN.

  4. aye .. wat wud be a better set up ?? tha 4 12s CVXs or 2 15s L7s ... runnin a 2600 Brutus for rite now, gunna run it at 1 ohm until nex summer // but juss got a 250 mechman, d3100 battery and gunna do tha big 3 so ma electrical is set again for now .. if i do tha 4 12s each sub shud be seeing 650 rms but i kno those amps are overated so ill say 600rms/ sub opposed to tha 2 15s that i shud have plenty power for .. so wat are some thoughts??? thanks!!!

  6. shoulda waited till you got something to post..

    lol

but on a sidenote logan he is trying to compete with the f150's!!

I was hoping to get the center counsole done and the box started today...and im not trying to compete with any F150s, my truck cost me 500.00, its got 101,107mi, and im NOT trying to jump in the 150DB+ club, when i get my truck metered when its all said and done it wouldnt bother me if i didnt break 100DB's, i just want a good balance thru the soundband thats all.... :8)

  7. So i figured with today being my day off and all id get a move on getting my shit put together, last nite i mocked up all my templates on some pallet slips(way easier to work with than cardboard), so i started my center counsole which will also hold my 3 hifonics Zxi4408 amps, i got the the cuts made for the frame, got one side notched on the router and half way down the other side i heard a POP and some grinding sounds and then there was smoke :censored: , so the router is cooked, and im going to enjoy whats left of my ONLY day off for at least 2 weeks and drink some cold ones :drinks: , i will get pics posted as soon as the building resumes....~Matt~

  8. Ill be 24 in July, no college, got 2 year vocational certificate in auto collision, i work at a gas station, which is basically the unemployment office where i live...one of my regular customers is trying to get me in at the Wal-Mart distribution center, hes been there 6 years and is banking $26+ per hour, 10 hour shifts and every sat, sun, mon off :good:, but when i grow up it dont matter what i wanna be, cuz ill be deaf and wont be able to communicate with anyone to get a job anyways  SMD FTMFW

  9. seems highly doubtful after reading his signature...

That convo was back in 2001, but its something that i will never forget, we ended up installing about 6 different systems in that car over a 5 year time frame, he now has an Expedition with all CDS components, Kenwood in-dash DVD, 4 screens, and 2-15'' Kicker CVX's, not to mention now hes married and has 3 kids, like the sig says: our FIRST install...The build that im getting ready to start will actually be the 12th COMPLETE(from all factory components to all aftermarket) like i said i may be new to the forum but im not new to the game,

  10. no if you dont have a good sealed box then you'll lose that pressure and you'll LOSE the dbs.and then with all that flexing that the box will do it'll just end up destroying the box.I mean you could do it with plywood but you'd have to brace the box like hell

I was JOKING, ive already got my 3/4 MDF bought, ive got 6 sheets of it right now, ive got to build my center counsole first, waiting for the office to clear me for my vacation days...but thanks for the advice if i ever do decide to use plywood... :friends:

heres a lil preview tho(no pics yet) when i get the saws and router out ill get the pics coming...

Center Counsole- MDF framed(40Lx14Wx18H) padded top on storage compartment, plexiglass, some fiber glass, some led's, 3 amps, and some MB quart... thats all im throwing out there for the center counsole, Kick Panels, A-Pillars, and something custom for a couple sets of 6x9's, Total RMS wattage when the build is 100%= 5200 watts(i AM NOT looking to step into the world of 150+)

  11. MATT402- Thanks for the feedback bro appreciate it i will keep everybody posted and informed as things go

AZNBOI : im gonna use plywood for my build, i dont wanna be like everyone else that does builds, besides i heard that when u use plywood and the box flexes it increases the amount of air that the subs move which i.m.o. would get me at least an extra 5 or 6 DBs..PLYWOOD FTMFW :yahoo:
