  1. i see that people are taking what is being said the wrong way... I know that respect is the key to getting an answered... Every question i have EVER asked on here has been answered, including the ones that i have PM'd other members... I just DO NOT want to see this forum end up being like so many of the other ones, i was a member on at least 3 other sites and every time someone would ask a ''stupid question'' someone would have to be an @$$ about it (i.e. what is a good 12 for under $200?) there post would be flooded with "go to walmart" and ''jensen or roadmaster"" type answers... and for the record, SMDMEDIA.NET is my homepage, and it is the ONLY favorites link on my mobile browser... ;)

I have no complaints with the site or any members on this site, again THANK YOU to STEVE MEADE AND HIS CREW....SMD FOR LIFE & FTW) :good:

  2. First and foremost i want to thank Steve and his crew for starting a website and forum for all the fiends, addicts, and fans of the automotive world...This website is NOT just for people who have a love of car audio, but for automotive enthusiests as a whole...I cant thank you all enough...

Now a concern that i have about the site.. There are noobs to this page who ask questions that most people just role there eyes to, or probably smack there desk in rage and say "are you @#$%ing kidding me?''...I understand your frustrations with those questions but also take into consideration that there is no age limit for loving car audio... There are members on this page who dont even have a drivers license. They are looking for guidance and answers to questions that they dont have an answer to. As a member with a decent amount of installation and product information i DO NOT EVER reply to a post with any negative comments, if i DO NOT have an answer i do my best to find an answer, and i believe it would be in the BEST of this website if other members did the same. I know questions like: how many Db's will this hit? CAN NOT be answered, but do we have to be negative or sarcastic with an answer?? I grew up with everyone downing me for my passion of car audio and cars in general, I learned about installs thru reading CA&E and by spending my free time at my local car audio shop and asking tons of questions..There are still many corners of the mobile audio field that i have no hands on experience, and have always been told ''the only way to get answers is by asking questions''......there is enough negativity towards car audio enthusiests from the general public and law enforcement we dont need negativity from each other....THANK YOU

  3. very informative

Thanks for all the feedback, i was wondering about A-pillars myself and i seen that most everyone that replied to A-pillar questions got told to use ''search''..i didnt really find any 'detailed' pages on here so i figured id find something that was basically a 'walkthru' for A-Pillar rookies like myself... :good:

  4. its not that simple, the droplets need to be a sertain size to even move, or else they form a sort of suction. thats why whenever you spray windex on a window it dosent all run off of it.

just vibrating the panels it pointless, without proper weight, the water wont move without manual intervention.

thats 3rd grade stuff peeps. come on.

Ummm i dont recall learning anything about water droplets in 3rd grade, but that might also explain why the only classes i ever got better than a C in was Art & Auto Body...

But it could also be that those were the only classes that i didnt have a chance to read CA&E, TRUCKIN, LOWRIDER, OR IMPORT TUNER in :search:

  5. ^^^x2 about the fans- a few well placed fans can keep amps amazingly cool

    -Drew

much thanks to both of you, been alot of help to me i cant thank ya enough

cda-9887... 3 preout front/rear/sub @ 4v...2 amps to subs and 3 amps for highs, im thinkin of running all hifonics amps (bang for buck and ive never had a prob with em and my buddy has had the ones in his expedition since '00 and there still runnin strong) with that many rca's ima need a line driver and a few y splitters right??

  6. **just rough examples

    -Drew

alright, i was just checking prices and itll cost about the same for me to run a 1k watt amp to each sub, once u figure in the extra wiring, dist. blocks, etc....i might just do it that way.....kinda like rustys box has the 1 amp cept mount all 4 of em vertically..only thing that worries me is ima have 3 amps for highs/mids, plus whatever amps for my subs... :drinks:

  7. i wouldn't do it :)

on a small scale it may be fine, as you lose woofers your decreasing amp output my concern would be that if they are in the same box the last one or two woofs might have some mechanical issues with the large box and small cone, this could be avoided with single chambers

    -Drew

yeah thats what i was thinking give each sub its own chamber..

Now i am going to run 4 12'' LVL 4s off a T40001BD if i cut one sub off with a toggle would that not increase the wattage to the other 3?????

  8. Hmmm think something like that would be PERFECT....bet itd look just as nice with the T40001BD :spiteful:

    Thanks Noob...Great lookin box Rusty...

back in the day my boy had a 4 channel amp pushing 4 kicker comps and he ran a toggle for each sub to turn em on and off, they were in the same box..

now the ? i have is this:

    1. Is it safe to do that?

    2. If yes, is it best to give each sub its own chamber?

    3. If no, is there a way to control each sub on a mono amp?? i would think that cutting the power to one would throw more power to the others.....

  9. ask him for the entire price list for all of his woofers and then you only have to ask once and not bug him everytime.

I shot him an email a few weeks ago and he sent me a pricing list in less than 24 hours...hes a good dude, really really good about answering questions

**Keep up the good work Rusty, :good: **

  10. Im from northeastern lower peninsula and was wondering who all on here are from michigan and what sound comps there are?

im from battle creek, ive only been up here about a year and from what ive seen its like a dead zone for sound comps down here in the sw part of the state

  11. Putting this in the members build for now because i just finished putting it together today :)
