  1. i hear it takes 200+ db to stop the heart...most likely gona go permanently deaf before you die...
    correct
Sit in a 170+ dB vehicle and see if you can walk away, I will pass... lol

Pressure alone in some of these extreme vehicles is probally enuf to kill a person or severly injure them.

by this point your ear drums rupture will have ruptured.
i know someone died because he didnt have enough bass.....

    j/k

    This is a fun read.

I lol'd at "150dB is enough to cause immediate permanent deafness. Anybody who wants to listen to music or conversation, or anything else at more than about 60 dB needs a brain transplant." Evidently this means the majority of us here on SMD are brain dead and deaf :D

  2. :good:

    Thats great to hear!

You should see the XL and Lvl 5

    ....t3h sex....
I agree! Rusty and all the guys at DC is TOP NOTCH!!!
    agreed :good:
even when the cone has began to separate they still slam...ask James Tombs
nothing to do with what you said......I just love your ava....I would love a heine cooler lolz
    :o

DC has done me nothing but good. ^_^

    yup yup
Yeah I mean it sounds great for the price, and for being only 300 watts rms.
they can handle a bit more juice too :spiteful: I had them on a 1606 for a while before I got my lvl3s
  3. i was under the impression that DC was not (did not) make amps in the US market?

i think i remember seeing a pic somewhere on this forum a while back.

anyone got any more details on the dc amps?

they are available. Quiet a few people are running them here on SMD. Just got to talk to rusty about it.
    this one?

    http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=19581

it's a pretty good price, too.

I like OCS. Great service. That is the amp I'm running (well mine is the 1606). You've seen what it can do :D
  4. I haven't had any experience with these subs but from what I've seen and heard I would say go with either of the Level 3's....and the lvl 3's are rated at 600rms each so if you just want them to run at there rated power go with any amp that is doing 1200 true watts rms for both and they should be fine, but I've heard that all those subs could take much more than they are rated at.

And about the box, you should always make your own, cuz pre-fabs aren't all that great.

I'm sure all of this will be backed up by people on here that are rocking DC.

lvl3s 12s are awesome. Got mine on 1600w.
this is where i get lost..what would be better? sealed or ported?
    ported

here you go hitman, just to give you an idea. My set up is 2 lvl3 12s in a ported enclosure tuned to 32hz. Box was designed for my lvl2s but I upgraded from the 2s to the lvl3s after about 2 weeks lol. Box still works great, but I have a feeling I'll be doing a rebuild soon. 3.04cuft after displacement (1.52cuft per chamber)

  5. I'm not 100% sure but this sound like you MIGHT have a case for "False Advertisement" against them. I'm not sure how that will turn out though.

Either way, I hope this get settle the right way.

    yup
tell them to give your money back or you will sue them, that should scare them enough to give the money back...
    if only
They said that since it was a consignment it was my duty to know EVERYTHING. Which of course I didnt or I wouldnt be back as soon as they opened the next morning after buying it at closing time yesterday! I had them test the Voice coils and took their word that it was an RE, doesnt seem like they should be able to lie and misrepresent no matter what. I am so pissed right now! And this is after getting my wife to finally say ok when she is totally against this, and then this happened so she is livid!
:bsflag: sorry about all of this. That really sucks. Wife probably gave you the "I told you so" lol.

At least customer service will take care of you so you can get that build going. This just means never deal with those people again.

  6. So what about Hannah?
this. care to chime in Hannah? :P
She would find this SO sexist

    -Drew

**quick story- Hannah and i are driving side by side down I80 and i'm jamming my Chili peppers full tilt off the HU (pre-wall) With windows up and wonder if she is bumping... right as i was considering rolling the window down and turning down ma peppers i hear this low beat thumping from that little hatchback

She needs to cut that shit out!! some old person might get mad and write an article on yahoo :D

It is a scientific fact that the quality of music played in a car is inversely proportional to the volume at which it is played. (Citation Needed...)
this, lets get myth busters on the case :spiteful:
I believe its a feature on Roadmaster brand equipment.

  7. DC is definitely good bang for your buck.

PS, guessing you are a fellow K20 eh? :D

if your leanin toward quality... the equipment is only part of it.... design and building skills are the most of it... your gna need lots of deadner and seal up ur doors. equipment i suggest dc lvl 3s shud be enough for you... a single 12 should be loud enuf for you if ur gna go sq... for amps.. im personally using Orion... Hifonics are okay.. but as everyone will tell you here.. they are overrated... try crunch... i personally would prefer those over hifonics... RF's 6.5 comps are geting cheap on ebay... and they can handle a beating... but if price is an issue... pioneer is okay... i had a set that sounded alright... i personally havnt heard hifonics mids and highs... so i cant really say much about that...

If you go by what he says check me out....I've got 2 lvl3 12s and a Hifonics Brutus 1600.

Oh and welcome to the forum :P

  8. ask sable nave
    lolz....I remember that "build"
no i pretty much threw m sub in my trunk and wired it to see if it worked and it did. so i left it while i built a box
ouch....poor sub. Hope it didn't get damaged rolling around back there. get it out of there, finish that box, and throw it in that box now :D
  9. this thing is a damn beast!

a demo at 2:30 in the a.m. prooved that to me.

with no question, there is NO port noise.

the 18's just beatin down your dome is intense..

enough diversity to keep anyone who wants a demo happy.

you want the lows of some gorilla zoe, it can do it.

if you want to hear some double bass kicks from your favorite band, it can do that also!

    overall an amazing build..

    this "tank" is awsome!

great job on th build man!

well shit......I really can't wait to get my demo :D
