  1. Ok so i got the boss to buy a suburban for a shop demo truck will be doing a soundigital 16k quad 260 alts 4 battcap 4000 and 2 3000 for power.most likely but not set yet in the sub layout have been thinking 4 4xl 18's sub up port back around the 20-22 cube mark but was wondering if anyone had good input on tuning hz. and port area i was thinking around 34hz.I am also trying to convince the boss to do a 4th order wall but hes not sure he wants to wall it but if anyone has ideas for sealed and ported box size and tuning for that please let me know,as that would be the first big 4th order ive done.thanks in advance

  2. there is a phrase for that right? Mechanical limit (in said environment of course) but on the bright side the obscene amount is just plain silly for a daily 10" sub there is gotta be alot more stress in that small of a diameter but maybe stiched cone rubber high roll double thick would be the only other option for an upgrade?hey why not get ya two more and do up a 6th order like that one guy around here and distribute the power a bit more it is a smilar trunck size?

  3. going dual alt bracket(need a deal on a 5.7 bracket) and he has 2 xs3100 and a 2400 up front will be adding as many as i can convince him 4th order sounds good im gonna push for 8 batts probably settle for 6 3100's now im just waiting for the customer to man up and hand over some cash hes got it so im counting on it. and to top it all off my other bass head customer heard about this and now he is sellin his 4 13w7's and going 6 xl15's or 4 18's gotta measure so this could be an exciting spring/summer :hairtrick:

  4. it will be a while gotta gather all the subs amps and everything else hes already got half the setup and is just gonna double what hes got and change the box but i will definatly post up what i have for space once i get it measured and will glady take opions and advice on a 4th or 6th order but this guys a little slow as far as this stuff is concerned so i gotta convince him that kinda box will work but any how cant wait to start oredring and building hopefully next week sometime but for anyone who has gotten a SD amp you know it can take a while to get to the states the last one took something like 2 months maybe more so it probably gonna take a while and i gotta figure out how to load pics here.

  5. so my customer with the surburban 2 xl18's and a SD 8k called today and said he was ready to pull the 3rd row build a wall and double up on everything so 4 xl 18's all with six spiders (he's a Dj and he gots lots of power he tends to beat the crap out of them) 2 SD 8k's probably a vcm 270amp mechman and 4-6 xs3100. so any idea (i know i saw someone with a wall in a burban behind the second row) as far as space how much is back there wont have a chance to measure till monday or tuesday so im trying to get a preliminary idea of box and space kinda thinking around 24-25cubes lots of port but if i dont have that much i will compromise. thanks for any ideas in advance :hairtrick:

  6. come on people its ALL ABOUT THE INSTALL and with a box setup in this fashion you probably wont get hella excursion out of it.Thor dosent even do it any more since he changed boxes. we all know its hard to get a good impression on how good a sub is jsut by a short vid of just the sub. and its only 4k watts to it come on thats what the lvl5 likes to get down on in the proper set up so what do you expect out of a 4in. coil monster at that level of power in that box everything is well undercontrol. Can you blame the guy for taking it easy on a at least $150 recone he would need if he destroyed it not to mention i believe he is still waiting on batts or alt to go full power, now those vids should be impressive.and yes DC is a groundpounder type sub imo and probably lots of others and even though its a numbers box i bet its plays low enough to sound pretty good well just wait and see what hz. he burps at.if oldschool says its loud then it very well will be.
