Agreed, 1 level 5 15 would be a good match. Chode put 2 of the Powerbass 4K's in the Durango to see what they would do on 2 level 5 18's. The subs didnt even break a sweat with a 4K on each sub. If you plan on running 2 level 5's plan on adding another amp to the setup.

Did you do any testing with the new box. Wondered if you tried firing it towards the back or to the side of the trunk. You have some wood left here if you wanna build a lower tuned daily box for Chodette
Im still waiting for a pict of that thing too. All I have are crappy 1 megapixel cell phone pictures.

Big thanks from me as well. Thanks first for supporting our shows with your kick ass products. An additional thanks because I actually won the SA-8 at that first show. Still doing the design for the box but will probably have it pounding away in the living room before the end of the year. Been to busy with other peoples boxes to get mine done

Congrats Bro. Im a little older than you but you beat me out in the become a Gradpa race
I have a feeling my youngest boy is trying very hard to have me come in second place. He's one girl crazy SOB.

Congrats Nick.

Finally finished the install. Have another D3400 under the other side and an S3400 under the hood.

If you run out of skips on the free version just refresh the page. Works like a charm. Maybe I will stop being cheap and spend the money for the upgrade. Slacker is also an excellent choice.

A 360.2 is on my Christmas list this year. Im wanting to do the same thing your trying to do.

You need to add 2 photo albums.
"Nicks super awesome poses" and "Nick likes to hump things". Those albums would be full quickly

Way to go Bro! Those are some nice awards there. Cant wait for next season to start.

Plus they will fall apart if they get wet. Giving them a good coat of resin and a little glass would be a good idea.

I agree with Justin. Some good industrial strength velcro should hold those things in place for good.

I have been doing this, competing, for a year now. So far I am the King of second and third place and I think 8th at the last NSPL show. Spent gobs of money and had a blast doing it. Met so many great people that have helped me tremendously over this season.
I have been building my own systems for 20+ years and had no idea what I was doing till about 3 years ago when I started getting serious. Went to my first show last summer and was hooked. A sport using high power audio equipment? Cant think of anything I would enjoy doing more as a hobby.
If all I was in this to do was win first place trophies I would have quit after having my ass handed to me several times. My setup isnt built for classes so I get put against monster systems and regularly get beat by 5-15 DB's. But it isnt about winning for me its about having a good time with like minded folk. I love the loud music and the hard pounding bass. Thats why the system is in the truck. Its not there so I can win a comp.
Good thread you started here Ed. Couldnt agree with you more.
No go put something in that HHR so I can smack you down in the lanes

Everything you would ever want in one place for fiberglass supplies.

Congrats Nick. You deserve that jacket this year. You were one hella hard working competitor.
That jacket is bad ass for sure.

well this is what ima do today when i get back to pa ima go to bestbuy look at some of the stuff they have and if it works out how i plan it will ima runn a home theater but take the stock sub apart put the wires from that sub to my DC 8" which can be wired to 8 ohms dual 4 then ill take an aux cord from my laptop to the front of the reciever and bluubamm ill hope it works haha but how its playing out in my head it will
That sounds like a plan. Might not have a lot of power going to that HT sub but it cant hurt to try. You could also get a plate amp from Parts Express or eBay and mount it to the new box.
-
You can do it the right way or the fudged up way.
The right way and easiest is this. Get a cheap home receiver with a sub out signal option. Get a dedicated sub amp for home audio just like you would for car audio. Get a mini jack to rca split audio cable to run from your computer to the receivers aux,cd or whatever input you wish to use. wire the sub out to the sub amp and wire in the speakers just like you would a home stereo.
You also need to be aware that most home audio equipment is designed to be run at 8ohm. Some higher end stuff will take a 4-6 ohm load. You need to also check out the amps. Some will and some wont allow you to bridge channels.

My lil babys cuter than yours Nick.

Looked like that windshield was flexing pretty good to me. Nice work.

If you have the cash, Porter Cable. You just cant go wrong with their routers. I have used everything from their flush trim routers up to 3hp plunge routers. They just take a lot of abuse and keep on going.

S for under the hood and the D for in the back.

I can bust some serious moves sitting in my truck or sitting in a chair. Its the lower extremities where the tragic white syndrome sets in. My legs and feet just dont know what to do.

It was either ask for child support and make this thing longer, or not and start being happy.
Thats the fucked up part. You shouldnt have to ask for it. The judge should have ordered it. Thats what happened to every divorced guy I know that has a dependent in the custody of the ex wife. You may have never received a penny but the judge shouldnt be so obviously biased.
On a good note. Congratulations on keeping and taking care of your kids.
Amp ordered! Need sub help

You cant go wrong with any of those subs. I would run a DD 9518 as a daily sub though. The SMD's sound amazing. I heard 6 of them bumping in a Hummer this weekend and those subs hit every note thrown at them with authority. The DC level5's and the DD's sound very good too, but I think they are geared more towards SPL.
