hey guys.. well ive been debating for the past week or so.. on whether(sp?) or not to get rid of my truck.. i payed close to 2gs for it.. (first mistake) bought it from my uncle.. and well i didnt inspect anything(2nd mistake) well.. now am stuck driving my dads car.. and having my truck sit in our drive way.. ive put together a decent system on it..which ofcourse would get pulled out.. and well there is to many things going wrong with it.. battery is dead.. radiator took a shit.. windows are electronic but dont work.. windshield was cracked since day 1..steering wheel is to loose.. among a couple of other things.. since repairing so far is goin to cost me atleast half of wat i payed for it.. my dad has got me to think about trading it in .. and buyin a better car.. (something i can afford)now what do you guys think i should do.. keep investing in my truck..and hope for the best.. or trade it in and then put what ever fits from my system in the new car.. which will actually be driveable..
IMO I would get rid of it. That many problems already you will spend more time and money fixing it than it sounds you want to do. Get something reliable so you can enjoy your system.

That sucks man. They give a reason? Good luck with
your new job hunt.

13.2 before big 3 14.4 after. I got results immediately Ive heard others didnt
but I saw a difference and was very happy. Thanks to The Forum for walking me through it.
Its worth the try couldnt hurt.

I figured it wasn't a good idea, I just wanted a second opinion and I got several. Thanks to all. I just have my ex cab ranger to work with and I've got 3 amps to throw in there. I'll try to figure something out.
Look up for your answer? Seen quite a few amp racks along or in headliner. Some looked great some looked
terrible. Just a thought about placement. Thinking about a rollcage looking amp rack in my ext. cab Dakota.
I feel your pain man we dont get much space to begin with. Good luck man.

Honestly, the more I looked at the fabrics laid out on the amp rack board, the more I liked the look of the grey suede...the grey ostrich just doesn't look right
But the contrast of the black ostrich to the grey in the back seat area with the seats folded down is pretty appealing
I agree with you the black looks pretty good sitting there. The grey just don't look right. IDK
In the picture the black looks like it's better quality. Those are some nice prices too.

Dont know ive ran Memphis in the past prob. go back with em, They got some KILLER new subs. !!!!

-
looks nice, the grill and headlights are...different. not sure if i like them yet.
X2 Probably have to see it in person to make that decision.
Are the headlights angeleyes?
-
Looks good now its time for some big subs.
What kinda setup you going for?
-
the ostrich/suede combo is starting to run away with it
Time to start working. LOL
Cant wait to see pics.

They sprayed the bed of my truck with John Deere flat black
and it looked great.

How did you like Acoustic Edge and what classes did you
take? Just wondering cause I plan on taking some classes
down in Houston. Oh yeah congrats on job.
-
Bring it back man good deal.
-
They seem they'd be perfect for flat surfaces but could be a challenge for my door panels. Personally, i'm leaning towards Ostrich for the amp rack and Suede for the door inserts.
I feel you on that. Suede flows nice on door panels and the
rack would give it the extra touch.

So the samples turned out nice?

I've seen speakers in custom pods in the
tailights of full out show vehicles but that
looks like his daily driver. Love the Radio Shack
5 dollar tweeters. Wonder how many DAYS his
tweeters actually worked? Think Im gonna
go throw some in my tailpipes. LoL

Not to start a massive fire under this one but it's not unheard of for dodgy installers to do stuff like that so they can rip the car off later...
Yeah the shop my buddy had his sh*t installed at was
well known for that about 2 years ago thats when I
got away from them. And yeah if theres any way to
keep track of who does what install they should be
held accountable for there sh*t installs. They have
no problem showing off there installs that go well.
Edit his car has 2 12" L7s a zx1500 hifonics mid amp
and avic d2. Well worth it to those losers but in Dallas
they just take the ride woulda got his 20s at the same time.
Bitches.

. Oh the ign and starter wire were run to same place wtf.
I had a friends install hooked up same way. His car was f*cking up
as soon as I saw the wires I said same exact thing WTF? I swapped
the wires and told him to never go back to that place again. Just sucks
because I already knew the shop was crap he just didnt tell me he
was getting an alarm till the aftermath so it was to late to send
him to my homeboys shop. He got raped on the price to
they charged him 600 for autopage 727 remote start he was
pissed when I showed him my price for alarm and module. 205 and the install
for 100 bucks. Lazy installers or installers in over there head shouldn't be installing.
Sucks you gotta rip it all out and reinstall but a cluster fuck just aint worth dealing
with I feel your pain man. Good luck getting it back in.

i have been thinking about attending it in january after graduating high school
i know a guy who personally went there and he loved it
That's cool I was looking at the January 4th start date
too. So your friend who went does he know a lot more
than he did before he went? What Im asking is he someone
you would trust your car with or go to with tough questions
that the local shops won't or can't answer? Maybe Ill see you
in January man.

Yeah I have been told that at this place my experience would be mostly limited to my own vehicle.
That would be all right but I know my truck pretty good already.
I have a tax id and do installs on the side but only about 10-15 installs a month and usually its just basic setups.
A good friend said he could get me on part time at the shop he worked at so Im thinking about working there
part time would just be busy as f*uck. But it would get my hands on a whole lot more vehicles.
-
Yeah experience is the key. Thanks for the advice guys.
Anyone else?

Cool man I'm gonna go check it out. I have a standard
cab Ram love me some trucks.

just got back from the comp in foley, al tonight and was very happy with the results. i did a 146.3 on the TL at 35HZ and won my class. i was the third loudest there. but i did outbean multiple cars totaling around 20 with 2 12'', 4 12'', 2 15'', 1 15'', and so on. i was very shocked. the closest score was a 145 with the 4 12'' subs in a truck..
