  1. Using the dd-1, it shouldn't take too long. Unless your amps are hard to get to.

Oh they are extremely hard to get to, lol. But i would rather do it right.

I just got everything in on Friday, i will be posting a video up soon hopefully.

May I ask why you added a crossover to the system? Isn't the 175.4 active capable so the addition of the crossover would do what for you? When I had my clarion crossover in my car I measured just to see by plugging the rca's into the DD1 from the crossover and at max volume I was undistorted because I had the same question as you with Meade's video.

I actually added a crossover to potentially go 4 way using multiple amps... more flexibility down the road. The 175.4 wouldnt really allow for a good bandbass on some mid range speakers. The LPF doesnt go up as high as i would like for midrange speakers.

Plus i had amazon gift cards so it was free for me.

  2. Are you positive on this? There was a video Meade posted on youtube showing how to use the DD1 with a crossover he purchased for testing purposes.

In the video he found max volume on the HU, found max gain on the 4 channel, and then set the gain on the XO to max

At least thats what i got out of it after watching it last night.

I just realized i probably should have posted this in the DD1 section, if a mod can move it for me i would appreciate it.

  3. Just over the weekend i added an new-old JBL crossover to my system...

Obviously was not that difficult of a task.

However, prior to the crossover being installed i had my gains on my DC 175.4 tuned with my DD1.

This crossover has gain knobs on it for the front/rear channel...

Where do i want these to be set?

Does it even matter if they are turned up all the way if the gains on the amp are properly set.

  4. are u some kind of dumb ass lol

i never said running speakers of speakers, i suggest reading lessons, if u cant afford em , i will send u money

Once you give an attitude like that anyone who REALLY knows their shit, wont help you...

There are people on here who have heard 100 different brands of tweeters, and i can guarantee you that not a single one of them will give you any input.

    Good luck

  5. I have wanted to get my hands on the neo-pros since i first saw the prototypes, but im still having a hard time deciding what my best option is.

My plan is to go with two 10" neo-pros in each front door... each speaker would get 250wrms.

I want them to play from ~60hz through ~4500hz and have tweets pick up the highs.

Now, my main question... will they really be able to handle that range, or would i be better off using both mid-bass and mid-range speakers?

  6. I met with the old IT guy earlier in the week, told him what i have done in the past, him and the HR guy both thought i would be qualified.

I have worked there in the past in production, followed by data entry. My mother has worked there for the last 10 years as an accountant and the owner of the place has always been interested in getting to know me. I guess you could say i "have an in", haha.

I made it very clear to them that some things would be a learning experience for me, but needing to learn something has never gotten in my way before.

Also, the old IT guy told me he would be available any time if i had any questions.

The company itself is not very large, but they do work for alot of large companies.

Im going to go in asking for starting salary at 35k, with a review in 6 months to 1 year.

I have put together a list of websites that give a general idea of what the salary should be, that way i have something to refer them to when they ask what i want.

I'm excited, its always been something i wanted to get into and at this point it seems i got the job.

  7. Here is the actual job posting. I have no certs ATM, the old IT guy didn't either.

They are willing to not only cover my tuition to finish my degree, but also pay for any certification classes/tests they deem useful to the company.

Sorry for the shit formatting, haha.

  8. Im 99% hired at a company that deals primarily with the production of color/fabric samples and pamphlets to companies like GM, Hunter Douglas, Behr, Sherwin Williams, etc. (when you go to buy a new car, the book with all the different interior fabric choices, and paint colors.. yeah, those books)

I will be their IT guy: managing about 30 computers, keeping tabs on hardware that needs updated, managing permissions on their servers, fixing general problems, presenting at company meetings about various issues, updating the website, all that fun stuff.

The job is labeled as entry level, but obviously its something most people couldn't just go and do.

My main issue is that i just don't know what to ask for as a starting salary...

Anyone got any input for me?

  9. I have a 175.4 that I bought from someone about a year ago, it was new from him.

I noticed today when I was going to screw some wires in for channels 3 and 4 that the screw didn't want to screw in...

It almost seemed like it was too small... I was able to pull it straight out without even unscrewing it.

I don't know how it would have been stripped, but if that's the case what do I do?

And just to be sure I do have the right size screws in there, what size are they supposed to be?

I can go grab a set from homedepot.

  10. "holding a grudge is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die"

You don't need to be best friends with the people you had issues with, but forgiving and moving on is healthy for you.

^^ advice that can and should be used for more than just car audio, lol

Props to both of you guys, now please... For the sake or car audio (and yourselves) let your words reflect your actions!

  11. I dont have the room for both amps in my trunk anymore, need to get one bigger one.

Looking for something like a DC 3.5k, sundown 3500, AQ, crescendo, etc.

Would obviously sweeten the deal with cash if i need to.

    8.5/10 on the outside

    10/10 mechanically

Usual wear on the mounting feet, and a few SMALL scrapes on the sides.

Tops of the amps look great.

    Never saw below 12.6v

Each one comes with 1 wired remote controller, also in good shape.
