I would reccomend ported though. Sealed is good but cvrs like to breathe! Also depends on what kind of car you put them to due to the demensions of the inside and shape. Overall ported you won't be dissapointed
I'm putting them in a Jeep Grand Cherokee
-
Go ported but are you having them firing bak or forward and depends how you want it sealed tight and more accurate bass ported louder and boomier witch will lead to being heard from farther away
Is there anyway a ported box can sound good as a sealed box but still be loud???
-
if done right ported can sound just fine, i have my cvr's ported and it bumps harder than any other cvr's ive heard, the specs for my box are in my signature and i used the box calculator on re's website
Are you suppose to tune it low to get good sound quality???
-
I have 2 12 inch kicker cvr's combined with a kicker kx 750.1 mono amp .... i want it to be loud, but i also want to have sound quality too....
What should i do SEALED OR PORTED/VENTED??????

I don't know, he don't know, she don't know and we
won't know unless we know your vehicle and either you
or somebody BUILDS it. Could be a great location
could be bad. Who knows.

General rule of thumb is no more than 6 inches from your woofer to prevent the woofer delay.
I have my tweeter and midbass 6 inches away already in my doors .... i'm adding a second set to my setup ( just tweeters ) .. and i was wondering if a pillars would be a good place
-
I already have a set of pioneer component prs's in the doors .... I want to add another pair of tweeters to my set up (sq) ... I heard putting them in the A Pillars are the best place .... am i wrong???

First off I would reccomend any Sundown amp just because they are some of the most reliable amps on the market. Next if your looking for a great amp that is going to be easy on the pocket and sound awesome I'd say go for the same 4 channel that I'm running in my car. I have a Cerwin Vega EXL400.4 which is an Arc Audio amp rebadged as a Vega amp. They are a couple of years old and you can find them online for about $150 or so shipped. Anyone who has heard my car will tell you that the amp produces very nice clear sounds at loud volumes too. Here are a few pics of mine and a link to where you can get one.
The Vega's all the way on the left, the other two amps are Sundown 1500d's.

You can find them cheaper than at Online Car Stereo, but you'd probably have to go to ebay to do that.
Thanks man ... I always wanted to know how the cerwin vega car audio was like .... my whole house is cerwin vega

not knowing what power u need, but i love my us amp xt1600.2 for my focals
I don't need to much power but i do need the amp to run a pair of 6 1/2 prs pioneer components, kicker coaxial and a pair of tweeters ... I also want to add another set of components to my setup later on..... can i buy sundown and diablo tech. amps online anywhere?

What do you guys think about hifonics amps for mids and highs???
-
Yeah but 2,600 is too much for both of those subwoofers, it would probably be better to get 2 amps that do 900ish @2ohms. Kenwood has an amp that is 900rms at @2ohms and it is very cost effective. My friend has one and it is a great amp. Or just get the hifonics 2010d and that would be perfect and probably cheaper than 2 amps.
so should i get two of these amps for my subs......
BXI 1210D
Super D-Class
1 x 450 W @ 4 Ω
1 x 900 W @ 2 Ω
1 x 1200 W @ 1 Ω
-
I was thinking about the Hifonics Brutus Amplifier ...... BXI 2610D
Super D-Class
1 x 850 W @ 4 Ω
1 x 1700 W @ 2 Ω
1 x 2600 W @ 1 Ω
Would this mono amp beable to run two of these?????
-
It depends, what subs are you getting, lets figure that out first. Then once we know what sub(s) youre getting we can help with the amp(s) youll need.
Hifonics ATLAS Subwoofers .... ATL12SQD4
12" DVC 4 Ω 1800 W MAXX 900 W RMS .... two of them
-
would it just be easier to connect each ind. sub to it's own amp .... or should i go with a mono amp .... which one would give off more power
-
ok so if I would get two 12 inch subs that are dual 4ohm at 900rms each .... can i get a mono amp that says 1*1700 w @ 2ohm ... would that be ok
-
you gotta look at the 2ohm rms then because when you wire them they will have a 2ohm impedence
So is it better to get a dual 4ohm or a dual 2ohm sub
-
Is it a single 4 ohm sub or a dual 4 ohm sub?
EDIT: I just got Ninja'd
it's a dual 4ohm
-
This might sound really dumb, but i'm tryin to learn a little ..... for example if you have a 4 ohm sub with 600 rms .. and your trying to match up an amp to it ... do you look at the amps 4ohm rms or 2ohm rms????

GO WITH RF MIDS AND HIGHS
-
they arnt bad. the thing is, we know about a lot of brands that arnt in big retail stores, best buy, frys, etc. the companies that sell in these stores can jack up the price because they sell a lot of product to people that dont know any better. study these forums and find out about all the great brands that best buy doesnt sell. you will save a ton of money and get a great system.
we arnt hating or bashing, we just know better. read up and you will too.
Thanks .... i love saving money .... but some of the amps you guys are suggesting doesnt even exist down here where i live ..... do you guys know where i can get a good amp thats better than the rf and jls but at a lower price?
-
What about the rockford fosgate t600-4? ...... i think it's a really good amp .... but do you guys think it's overly price
-
Alot better products out there at a much more reasonable price.
What 4 channel amp out there sounds better than the jl 300/4v2 sq wise????? .... I don't think you can name 5
-
What do you guys think about jl audio products? .... and what are your thoughts on the jl audio slash series 300/4v2?
