Personnally I wouldn't have gotten the cap ............ i'm sure it'll help some but i'd of did a battery or two in the back vs the cap. I'm sure that alternator should hold everything to a good charge though.
I have not purchased the cap yet(or much else on the list yet for that matter). It's all going in an ex cab ranger so space is limited. Thats why I was thinking a cap. How about an HC800?

Well, I'll be doing my first decent build and wanted some input to see if I am headed in the right direction as far as electrical upgrades is concerned. I'll have about 3000 watts rms. Here is a list of my plans. It's gonna be for daily, no comps. Any input is appreciated.
Optima Yellow Top up front (already have)
Big 3 in 1/0 (on the way)
1 run of 1/0 for power and ground
RF 10 farad hybrid cap-Decided against the cap. Any suggestions on batteries? Would one XS d925 be enough?

Dang??? 22 inch? how much are those gonna run?
Probably too much for my wallet for now.

According to Fi the copper coil upgrade helps on the SQ end.

Wall a pair of new SMD/AA 22" when they come out? :hairtrick:

Whatcha rollin' in?

and with the SSD what would be the best options to get with it for my kind of usage?
Depends on what you plan to do with it. SQ or SPL? Upgrade amp in the future?

Loud clarity. My polks are pretty good. They are way better that the Alpine type-s I had before, those were pretty harsh. I currently have 4 5x7 2-way is how they come. I still have a set of same model 6x9 3-way and 6-1/2 components and the 6x9 and comp setup was better than my new 5x7 but that is all that will fit in my truck without mods. Someday I'll have a T8004 and hook them all up at once I have never heard 5-way so I cant judge there but I heard some kenwood excelon 4-way and wasnt impressed. I think any speaker can get "screaming" if not setup right or driven too hard.

Not sure if you can recone infinity.
-
Personally I would do 2-way or 3-way. I see what you are saying, I just think 4-way or 5-way is just a wow factor. Others may feel differently. May I ask what speakers you are looking at?

Double check how that ground wire is running inside the block. I had a digital fuse block and that ground was pinched inside the block and eventually shorted.

Rockfords class bd should give the best sound quality. Its efficiency of class d and clarity of say a class A/B 4 channel amp.

Depends on what brand of speaker. I had sony explode 3way 6x9 that sounded like crap compared to my Polk Audio Mobile Monitor 3way 6x9s. I think 3way is the max. 4way and 5way are overkill imo.

Still available? Dibs if they are available and not DOA.

I bought my Rockford T400-4 for two reasons. Strong, clean power and it's RF :
-
Those Infinity's speakers you have are 2 ohm in case you didn't know. Keep that in mind when looking at amp output. I love my Rockford T400-4.
-
It depends on the actual output of your amp. Does Alpine include a birthsheet sheet with the amp? My Rockford is rated at 500rms at 2 ohm, but my birthsheet says 614rms at 2 ohm. I would rather over power my sub a tad instead of under power, but that is just my opinion. I am not bashing Fi but may I ask why you keep picking them with your amp?
As for the mids/highs. Is there a certain brand or price range on a 4ch amp?

I have a 97 ranger ex cab 2.3l m/t. Rolling on 33x12.50 BFG muds with 5.13 gears. +some added weight due to suspension mods. I get 13-15mpg and have a tough time hitting 80mph.

According Fi's website the Q 12" is 1000rms. Your amp may not be enough as I am unsure of that amp's real output. What speakers will you be powering? RMS?

I have a Boston Acoustics G5 10" DVC sub and I love it. Sounds great in a sealed box. You could look into the 12" version. The G5 line was discontinued recently so you might have to look a lil bit in order to find one. I have been pushing mine with 600 rms @2ohm for over a year now and still sounds great.
Sub is 450 rms by the way
