  1. Just cause you used a dd-1 doesn't mean it's the end of clipping

Using the -10db track increases the possibility of clipping cause all songs are at different volumes

So if a dd-1 doesnt stop clipping and distortion why is it highly sold and used? Is it a "kinda of sorta of distortion dectector?" Smh
I'm guessing you don't know how the dd1 works. It doesn't matter if you use the dd1, if you play the wrong type of music you can still be clipping
  2. Why can't you put the other 2 bats in the rear?

Might be better in the rear having the batts closer to the amps

Believe it or not, I actually drag race my Escy. NHRA does not allow batteries of any type inside the vehicle unless they are in a sealed, vented box, or behind a sealed firewall. Also, I tow my REAL race car with the truck, so between the sub box and the tongue weight of the trailer, I'm trying to keep from putting more weight in the rear.

Pic racing with the old 22" wheels on it....

That's pretty cool, do you race with subs in or do you take them out with the box?

  3. This amp was my first amp, i got it when i was 13 and had 3 of those old school kicker subs i can remember the model number but boy was it loud

Also the amp would get so hot haha this was before i knew what ohm load was

Still have it it was working great but a couple months ago i let a friend use it and it stopped working

  4. Just wanted to give you an other opition. But if you dont want to cut the box find something to put in the sealed section so that in a way makes it smaller, for example blocks of word screwed or glued down

How would you accomplish that if the sealed portion is on the opposite side of his port?

Well open up the box, i mean if he ever planed to swap subs or the sub he has blew then he would have to open up the box some how

by the looks of it... he did not ever plan on opening the box up... lol

    Its seamless.

Your right i guess he has to cut it

  6. Just like most of the others that ordered theirs just before Christmas I too was able to tear into my car with the dd1. First thing that left was the Jensen DVD screen. Distorted at 26 and it was taken out, in went an alpine cda 9884. I have to say the sound quality after tuning is amazing; I’ll get into more later. However when doing my Rockford mono block I was able to turn the gain all the way up without showing distortion. Doesn’t seem right to me, ran through it 3 times with the same result. Just curious if anyone else has come across this.

I had the same decks on mine

On the alpine make sure the sub level is turned up all the way, its not a bass booster its more like a volume control for the sub out put
