  1. An early 2000's Ford Crown vic. With the right engine mods (new air intake, exhaust, aluminum drivershaft, and a good rear-end gear ratio) they will get above 20 MPG as long as you take it easy. My dad's 04 gets like 24 or so with those same mods. The aluminum driveshaft and intake (from a caddy with the same engine as his) cost him just over 100 and the exhaust was around 100 because we had a good friend do it for us.

The KBB value on an 02 Ford Crown vic is between 5,000 and 6,000. They're trunks could easily fit 4 12" as long as you know what you are doing. I believe there's something like 12 cubic feet available in the trunk without the spare tire.

  2. Ok i cant blow that pic up big enough....but why are you running both kicker comp subs and a dc?

yeah, sorry about that. The original file is 40 MB!

    Those are Kicker 07c84's.

I would actually be running the Kicker 07c84 8" subs as mids.

And I want have a carputer right away. That will come later on. I will just use a laptop for right now.

  3. Anyone?

This is what I was thinking as far as the system:

The HU (Clarion) would be just for radio. The carputer would hold my music. The HFEG would boost the input from both for use at the amps (since it has a built in line driver). The P5000.5 would be for the mids/highs and the RF r500-1 would be powering a DC LVL3 10" in a Tline.

  4. OK. So I have chosen some good speakers and an amp for powering them. I want ya'lls opinions on my choices.

I woud like to get that EQ because I plan on using my laptop until I can get a custom carputer built. It's within my price range and looks to be pretty good.

I know this isn't the best amp, but it's within my price range.

I plan on buying 2 sets of these:

For the front 4 channels and 2 of these:

    On the subwoofer channel.

Do ya'll think that will be good enough for my very, very small budget. I don't make a lot of money.

  5. My bad,....and if you read the time rawlins posted it was a few seconds before me or as I was posting.

I'm not gonna go through the whole damn thing just too see if it was a prank and to waste my time clicking the next page button.

    LOL. I am! :D

EDIT: and I didn't notice the post times. I fail! I fail at everything.

EDIT EDIT: I'm on page 51 and he has yet to reveal it's a joke.

ANOTHER EDIT: Read page 61. All of it.

  6. haha cool shit

ya the car is red but i unno interior color tho, i'll halfto ask her

Awesome. I still have the original sketchup file so I can go back and change anything I need to. Just let me know.

Oh, and box specs. Internal volume is 1.214 cubes before displacement. From what I see, you can go bigger if need be (depending on how much volume the subs take up). I'm assuming they take up .1 cubes a peice.

Box dimensions are 10.75H x 25W x 12D and it is double baffled mostly for looks.

  7. they make a thing that u stick to a flat surface n its like some sort of diphram type deal and resonates threw the object n puts out sound that way, but it was only for midrange n higher freq's tho

but how the hell will this work? i mean the back glass has to stay in place but how can it move to create bass output without breaking the seal?

its a cool idea tho, and what if someone played basstronics - bass i love u n broke the back glass with it? will it be covered in some type of warenty?

Glass is somewhat flexible if you push hard enough and fast enough. However, most glass won't move far enough for the eye to see it bending. It depends on the type of glass.

and I doubt it'd break the window. That thing looks like it would have trouble taking the power from any aftermarket deck. Much less a dedicated amp of any kind. It looks like it will only take what little power the factory deck can put out.
