Best way to Mount an Large amp is to get one of these.
Really try bolting the box to the floor then Bolt the amp to the box with some rubber grommets.
How would I bolt the saddle down? Never seen anyone use one of those in car audio,I guess I'll look for one on ebay, thanks.

What kind of amp is it?
Depending on if it uses vertical, horazontal, or 45degree mosfet mounting can determine if the amp will work ok on a box or not. Vertical fets are the worse and to many vibrations may cause the mosfet legs to snap and fry the amp.
The way Rockford Amps are made and how the mosfets are mounted is what allows people to mount them on the box.
I personally dont see a sheet of sound deadening of ANY KIND will eliminate the vibrations caused from mounting a amp on a box.
The only proper way to do it is with 4 soft rubber type spacer/washer (at least 1/4 to 1/2 inch long to put between the amp and the box, and NOT tighten the mounting screws totally tight to the point you compress the rubber bushings fully.
Zapco amp,I'm not mounting on the box. Too many issues with that,if someone gets into my car that will be too easy to just snatch the box and have damn near everything.

my dad had his fosgate amp mounted on his enclosure without problems but his setup was weak. What kind of car do you have, that would help answer your question.

Idk what kinda car or enclosure you have but maybe the enclosure? Or under the seat (like Steve, that way it won't fall)
I thought mounting on the enclosure is bad for the amp.

Where would you guys suggest mounting a pretty large amp? It's 24.5" and to big to mount on the back off my seat any suggestions?
-
I can't see how people can hate on that,it's real nice.
-
Anyone know where I can find some,or is there any way I can make my 0 gauge fit in this type of connection. By the way it's for power and ground on a amp.

ttt
you got mail.

why not ask around about peoples work, any builder can bullshit you let their customers tell you their thoughts.
Anyone's welcome to give some recommendations.

PM me with some of your work and price and I'll give you the dimensions

Dude...fucking read. Your arguing about something that everyone is agreeing about.
You fucking read, this is what the man that made them told me,I don't give a fuck what you say.
-
i cant blame them for telling you that.
the level 4 xl and the xl are the same woofer.
Since you guys know more than Rusty himself,I'll just post what he told me when I asked what's the difference between an Xl and Level 4XL. I posted another topic because obviously some people are misinformed.

pretty much everything =
XL uses a much larger motor, and all the soft parts of a LV5 minus 1 spider

why did they get mad?
I have no idea.
-
First off let me say I am not here to argue, but I started a thread asking the difference between level 4XL and XL. People got mad and told me they are the same,in fact they are two different subs, with the XL having a larger motor and the same soft parts as the level 5 minus 1 spider. Just thought I would clear this up in case anyone else was curious.

I have a 15" level 4 XL looking for a DC amp to push it.
-
sir not starting shit but take a look.
http://www.dcsoundlab.com/woofers.html
it shows all level's. 1 2 3 4 4XL 5. dont get pissy. it was on the site
Well I was hearing people refer to it as an XL and some were saying level 4XL,I was just wondering if there was a difference. I wasn't getting pissy,it's just no need for people to act like females just because someone asks a question, it made sense to me when I asked it as I was hearing it called two different things(XL and Level 4XL).
-
It's the same sub. Check the website next time before posting something that can be found there first.
Man you need to relax,I asked if there is a difference between the XL and level 4XL it doesn't say this on the site. Next time if you don't want to answer a question, just don't.
-
Are these the same subs? If not what's the difference?
-
I would not recommend running them together by any means. The top pics if from the early 2000s and the bottom one I think was released in 07/08ish.
Even if they are both 4 ohm? Are the specs. different?
I'm trying to find the specs on the older ones, anyone know where i might find them?
-
Can these be ran together?

Hello,I have 2 L7's in a sealed box,the sound quality to me is great and it hits hard. I have been hearing that putting them in a ported box will lower the power handling,is this true? Also what are some of you guy's score on the TL with L7's and what was your setup?
