1. what benefits are you looking for? if louder is one then nope. if being able to rest your arm on the box like a console is one then yes. you wont get louder without more space.

i would go t-line console with high end subs, or a single sub in a bigger box behind the seats, or blow through the cab. good luck MY BAD DIDNT SEE THE HARDEST THUMP WITHOUT NEW EQUIPMENT POST. PPPFFFFTTTT!, yup just heal up and experiment!

2. well what i was guessing, when i was first installed my first ever 4ch, i tap'd on of my speaker wires on my amp( i was an idiot for leaving my truck on ), then i went to turn it up and i had this permenant whine. Its common for pioneers, ive never seen any other deck do this.

ok well maybe when i was switching around my rcas to see if it was them, I caused some damage to the equipment. I did the changing around with the system on so I could hear for a difference. live and learn I guess!

mr.p, thanks its a jvc i got at best buy. like 129 on sale at the time so its probly time to upgrade...im just trying to make sure its bad before i drop more money into it and it still whine like hell!

3. All right guys, I've gotten lazy and decided to just ask the pros on here whats up. I just went through and regrounded all my grounds, checked the wires in the back of the headunit to check for loose connects and chassis grounded the shit out of it. switched rca's every way possible. I have the big three up front, and everything running on opposite sides of the car. Like the title says, NEW whine since i didnt have this before, or have I ever not been able to find the source of it. SO is there a way to check the outputs and inputs to see if theyre blown or not functioning properly? It seems like a signal noise but im not an installer....PLEAZE HELP. thanks

4. With as little cone area as he has and as little space he has to work in, it would be a challenge to make a bandpass box, and even then a ported box would be louder.

3 8's.... I'm gonna say that 2 10s is something everyone does in a regular cab truck. 3 8's is less common, and the depth of the box won't have to be 9'' wide with an 8'' sub. 3 8s in a ported box tuned @33 will get lower than 10s or 12s in a sealed box.

Even one nice 10'' sub in a ported box off 750 RMS will get down in a standard cab truck, and not take up too much space.

sorry if i'm going off topic but thats a nice fucking honda you got there! back on topic, 3 speakers disperses heat better than two i believe. 8's go lower too dont they, freq response wise?
5. sub displacement is .085... thats what I put into your calc... im looking at it right now and giving you the numbers as I see them in the calc

box - 10.5x37x19

port - 11x2.5x8

displacement - .085

slot port

Just thought about this... the .085 is per sub, so I should probably double that number, huh?

lol, yup that explains that! i like 10's better anyway and yes displace everything that you put inside the box, like ports, speakers, braces,so on...x2 on port area. what you have would be enough for one sub.

6. Just want to make sure that I'm getting this right, because I'm going to be attempting my first ported box build. Heres what's going in...

2 Memphis 15-M310d4's

Memphis 16-mc1.1100

Box Dimensions:

37x19x10.5 (3/4" mdf)

3.02' after sub displacement

Port:

11"x2.5" 8" long

tuned to 37.11 hz

For all you port gurus with tips or suggestions, please chime in. just want to get this done right and planned out before my first cut. This is going into my scion xB and will be making a second "false" port for the look of a toaster. Thanks for any feedback!

i cant imagine those 15's only needing 1.5 ft. each ported.. am i missing something? i had my single re 15 in 3.3 at 33hz and it did well, i would go exactly to manny specs for the driver, and then go to the re box calculator and tweak it till you get what your looking for. easiest way to figure it out to me...i dont know much but i've done enough to know if i was doing two 15's, i'd want at least five feet, with the port tuned to whatever you want, vehicle tune, manny spec tune, or favorite tuneage, like 33 but every car is dif. pics please and good luck! ya those measurements are too small bro, i just did this one yesterday...r

7. onlinecarstereo.com sold me an amp that showed up and looked totally refurbed, it had that white tamper paste all over it and it didnt power on. I called the day i recieved it and they said send it back and we'll send you another one. after it took 7 days to get the amp, I had to pay to ship it back, then they said they werent a tma audio dealer so they had to send it to them to get tested which took something like 10 days. then when they "fix" it they will send it back to said web dealer, then they would send it to me. I'm like are you kidding me? It was supposed to be bnib. So I ended up spending 280+ dollars to wait for a rebuilt amp for like 2 1/2 months! I called and btched them out countless times and to this day I tell whoever will listen not to order from onlinecarstereo.com fucking cumdumsters.

8. i was getting ready for work and it looked like we were being attacked so i ran outside to see if there was a war going on, lol. florida was good so i went back inside and saw the second plane hit then the towers fall......last year i saw the actual site in wall street manhatten. thats when it really hit me hard. even though i wasnt there, ill still RIP all those who died on 9/11 RIP 9/11

9. They recone subwoofers. They would put a recone on the sub so it is usable again. If I had to guess how much they would charge I would say around $80 or so just for the recone and I'm not sure how much they charge to actually do the recone for you. It's easy to do and can save you quite a bit to do it yourself. I'm pretty sure I could get my own parts to recone the sub much cheaper than what they would charge.

excellent info buddy, thanks for the prompt replies too!
