I just want to let you know that not everyone who works at Advance Auto Parts is as big a dumbass as that guy is, i feel embarassed to know that there are people that work in the same company as me that make me look bad too. i'm sorry for your misfortune at the store and i do hope you continue to shop there, just refrain from talking with that douchebag.

  2. thanks i dont ever take advice from part store guys. i think i great that everybody helps everybody here. ive had lots of loud stereos but new nothing, learning alot

    thanks to everyone who takes the time to help.

    (my wife has been pissed at me for the last 3 weeks) she hates anything that shakes "idont like when me eardrums raddle" been working and planing, drawing, doing math, building boxes, changeing stuff around reading post, have a blast

    next up -box for my 4 12'', sealing off the trunk porting forward(yes/no) sub fireing up(yes/no) thats my plan so far going to take my time and do it right the first time.

  3. id do 10 guage for 400 watts but 12 guage will work, caps are worthless, and you shouldnt have done anythin gto the starter big 3 is just eng block ground to chassi sground, battery ground to chassis ground and alternator to battery positive, and that guy sounds like a fucktard

    i was just wondering what to do with the cut wire. does is cuz and volted loss or anything, just leave it there?

  4. so today i was out looking for ring termals. not much was open today. but anyways i was asking the guy in the advance auto parts store for the ring termals. i told him what i was doing with rings that big.(1/0) explaned what i was doing, the big 3. his response was " thats just stupid theres no reason for wire that big" he then went on tell me that he was a "car stereo top award winner" so i ask what was his numbers told me his highest was 127. told me he was running 3 10's at 8 ohm. said he made the amp run at .25 ohms. said that made the amps blow fire out of them, and said "made the paper from the woofer go accross the room". now i am new to getting into the ohms and most the tecical stuff. but some of the stuff the guy was saying just sounded stupid. he recomend that i get a battire clamp and put a big ass bolt in the fender, and run a 8 gage wire for the power and ground. said that would be more then enough. thats when i left .

    is any of this even plossible? is there any truth to what he was saying

    to add when i ask him what class he won in his awnser was all around best clairty

    did get my ring teramls after 5 stores napa was my rescuer now my big 3 is done plus one battire(-) in the back to sturt bolt.

    if you could give your two cents please... on a few things

    speaker wire is 12 gage the right size for 400watts ?

    caps do i really need them?

    when i did the big 3 the wire going to the starter comes from the altnator? or is there a connect some where else? i took the alt wire off the alt., it did not go right to the battire it goes somewhere else. i guess the starter. then to the battire (i cant get to the starter pain in the ass) so i just connect the wire at the other end by the battire, to the battire. what should i do with the wire that was going to my altnator?

  5. well i got the box done and fitted. sounds great. lot more bang for my buck love it cant wait to get my other 2 12s hooked up

    getting it in to the trunk well thats a story in of its own. had to do some cutting, banging, pulling, pushing, cut some shit out and well lets just say its in there.

    i have a few pictures(forgot to take in the building prosses) but i have a few dont know how to post them

    got a ? about the big 3 upgrade. i cant find a engin block ground point.

    the car is a 06 sebring 4 door

    the ground for the battire is the strut tower, do i

    (A) run on to the grond lug coming out of the stut tower and one to the sturt?

    (B) just to the strut tower lug and find any bolt on the engin?

    have pics of thatr too

    what a diffrents wire and some wood can make my box ant pretty far from pretty but it sounds good. it was great pratics now i know whats in store for the next box.

    with the 4 12s going in to it. any one got any ideas for me? everyone who helped thanke you very much i need ideas on how to get a bigger box in my trunk had trouble with one 32'' long 16 high.

  6. make a temp box to get an idea of what i can do

    its going to be ported. i think in the middle will be best?

    want to stay under 4.5cubis in total

    kicker cvr 2 ohm dual voice

    my ruff demetons are 15'' high

    32'' wide

    23'' deep

    out side demtions

    port demtions 15'' high

    3'' wide

    17'' long

    want tuned for around 35 hurtz. do these make sence?

    confused on the port, at the end of the port do i make a peace to go 90degress to the side of the box. if so how long?

    any help would be greatly appriated

  7. in MA it depends if your older and lucky to have the old green plate you only need one . but if you have one of the newer plates, we have like 10 or 15 to chose from you need one on fount and back. fyi put the plate in the front window a no no too, you will get pulled over.

  8. Snapped the leads on one of my lvl5's today so i soldered it back, worked fine for a while and went again, fixed it again and guess what it went again.

    The snapped bit is now quite close to the cone so its going to be hard to do it again but.

    Any ideas apart from a recone, mainly due to it taking ages to get one

    from my exp the better the solder the better i add to reconnect my fuse for my amp. the first time it just keep melting away, got better solder and havent had a problem
